I don't understand how the Giants are the best... -

They beat Washington in an ugly game.... I can give them props for that.

However, their other two wins come from the Rams and Bengals; both teams without a win. Combined win percentage of the teams they beat is 3-9. The Giants don't even play a tough team until week 8.... expect them to be the pseudo #1 team for a while.

(My bet is they lose to Seattle this week)

No, they love the Cowboys.

The Giants deserve it for now, they haven't lost since Week 17 of last year against a team that won 18 out of 19 games. Who cares anyway? It's not like this is college football where voting gets a team to the playoffs

Yeah, but if that was the case, they should have been #1 from the beginning.

The media just has a hard on for any team in the NFC East.

The Giants got discounted because Osi and Strahan who were huge parts of their pass rush which ultimately beat the Patriots. But I think it's more about the media's love of the Cowboys moreso than the NFC East.

Why wouldn't the Giants be #1? As said before, theyare undefeated and the reigning champs. The only teams, IMO, that could take the #1 spot away from them so far are the Titans and the Bills. Neiter team has beaten anyone great, so I give the tie to the Giants.

Giants have a talented team, but they haven't played much competition thus far. They will come back to earth and be a wild card contender. I expect they start feeling the loss of Osi and Strahan, sooner than later. Especially when they play the cowboys and eagles, and the lack of pressure allows the boys and iggles to move the ball down the field.
