Anybody that wants to meet up, this is a great bar. I've watched most of the Panthers games there, and they've got a great beer selection. I'll be there Saturday night, anyone interested?

Would you consider it a Panthers bar? How many people do you normally go with? Been living in Manhattan for three years now and have not found a good Panthers bar!

Not a Panthers bar, but it's never really dominated by a particular team. It's mostly a baseball bar. I just moved to the city a few months ago, and it's a good place to pull up a seat and watch football all day. There's a few people I see every Sunday, even run across a few Panthers fans too.

When I lived in NJ/NYC, we used to go to Brother Jimmys for Panthers games. Mostly an ACC bar which is great for UNC bball, but during the 2003 playoffs, the ENTIRE PLACE was overrun with Panthers expats. When smitty caught that 69 yarder against the Rams to win it in 20T, everyone went nuts. I forgot where I was for a second and just ran outside screaming like an idiot. People definitely looked at me funny.
www.brotherjimmys.com btw they have real sweet tea and decent ENC bbq |

There aren't really any Panthers bars here in NYC; I typically make do with bars that have the Sunday Ticket.
Flannery's on 14th street and 7th is alright, they have free hot wings on Sundays. McKenna's on 14th and 8th is decent and uncrowded on Sundays. They're a Giants bar, but they'll put the Panthers on if you ask the bartender nicely. They also have a buy one, get one free drink special every day, and cheap food. Of course, the Village Pourhouse on 3rd and 11th is a huge place with lots of drink selections and food, but it's more expensive and it draws a crowd. |
