That bar that you are talking about in North Myrtle....the one with the Panther head painted on the side...I think it was called McCatz...closed down. I was down there in April and it was closed BUT they were gutting it out/remodeling so I'm not sure if it's the same people or someone else.

We were at the Piggly Wiggly in south Myrtle this past weekend and saw a mid nineties chevy caprice with custom Carolina Panthers paint job front to back. It was a thing of beauty. It had SC plates. We stood around for thirty minutes waiting to see who drove it. I got pictures and when I get off my lazy ass i'll post them here.

Its funny because when i lived in Myrtle a few years ago you could go to all of the bigger sports bars and not find a Panther game on a big screen anywhere. Instead they were on a smaller tv at the bar. The exception to that was the SB year but only for the playoffs.

kind of a late post on this thread, but I live in north myrtle.. yes mccatz is long gone.. wow thats another story.. there is a place in surfside and they even broadcast from there on the radio on game day. can't remember the name.. on 544 & 17 business.. sadly enough we have our share of steelers bars.. drives me nuts but I have always been able to use a little persuasion to get the game on a larger tv than the tiny ones that are usually around the bar..

Well right now it is an empty building.. There were financial issues..Many many problems, they had a shooting, fights, drug deals.. Cops were becoming a regular there.. Sad.. I had some happy moments there during our super bowl run !!!

I'll be needing somewhere to watch the game Sunday if we break down in time. We're at the Broken Spoke down in Garden City, but we're staying in Myrtle Beach.
I really really don't want to go to hooters. Had enough of them during the spring rally. I doubt I'll ever eat there again. |

Sunbunny there is a place in Surfside on 544 that shows the game they even broadcast on the radio from there. Think it is Spencers if I remember correctly, across from Dick's Pawn Shop (544 & 17). Guess you are here for the fall rally ! nice !! I will actually be at the game this Sunday & hope to find the tailgate party this time ..We will be in Charlotte for Allman Bros. & Phil Lesh , buddy with PSLs has extras !! I am ready for another home win !! Good luck & hope all goes well !!

Yeah, we in MB for the rally. My husband is already there, and me and kids are leaving tomorrow. We're staying through Monday I think.
Is it kid friendly? My daughter is 10. If nothing else, we can always watch at the hotel. |

I have not been down there , because I live on the north end, I have always wanted to though.. Tell ya what .. I actually work at Dick's Pawn, the North Myrtle one, just call if you want and I will check out Spencers today, I am sure some of my south end co-workers have been there a time or two since it is across the street.. I will call & check it out today, I know you would much rather watch there than in the hotel, and I do think it is a restaurant/bar type place.. I will let ya know.. I am more than happy to check it out! Oh and maybe you can tell me where to find this tailgate party .. The # is 843-272-6705 ext.310 .. Safe travels !!

The only place that I know of that shows Panther games at Carpetbagger Beach is @ "5 O Clock Somewhere" across from the Krispy Kreme on Bus. 17 (aka: King's Hwy) in the "downtown" section. It IS the best place to watch ANY team down there.

Since I always stay in North Myrtle I catch the games at Overtinme Sports Bar on 17.....90-something screens (even one or two in the bathrooms) and the food is great as well.....tried to catch a game in Oscars once (across from Barefoot Landing) but that is Steeler Central. |
