Default Who are the worst fans in the NFC South

Even though Im a Saints fan, I have to go with Saints fans. Some of the garbage I hear them regurgitate is mind boggling. No fact based opinions, no football knowledge, no nothing. They wont hesitate to beat the Reggie Bush thing into the ground. I wish Katrina would come back and wash away some of these dumb ass fugers so us real fans could carry on with respectable fandome.

the NFC South was made up of pretty much the worst franchises in the history of the NFL circa 2002. No other division has as less superbowl wins than the sum of the NFC South (which constitutes a whopping 1 championship despite over 100 seasons between the 4 of them)

Up to that point the Bucs had been 3-7 in the playoffs, and had enough trouble shaking off the residue of many many years of pretty much wearing the gayest uniforms known to man (and possibly the most flaming logo of a buccaneer holding a knife, feather, or maybe a thin cock in his teeth, I forget exactly which one it was).

The Saints were even worse. It took them 20 years to earn a playoff berth and over 30 years before they could win one. They still have only 8 playoff games among them after over 40 seasons.

The Falcons had recently been Superbowl runners up. They own a losing record in the playoffs as well.

The Panthers were a young franchise and had just been an abysmal 1-15 in the 2001 season.

The NFC South is the only division complete with losing teams. Among overall W/L in the entire history of the franchises, every single one of them is under .500. This is not true for any other division, where at least one team has an overall winning record.

...yet no collective fanbase has the kind of undeserved sense of entitlement like NFC South fans. NFC south fans walk around like their teams have nothing to prove and that they can pretty much match up well with the best squads of the NFL.

Go sick an angry mob with pitchforks and torches on Marshall Faulk if he says Jake Delhomme is on the downside of his career on NFL Total Access.

Cut off Terry Bradshaw's testicles with a rusty coping saw if he says that the Saints' secondary is porous.

Tie up Mark Schlereth and stick bamboo skewers under his fingernails if he says Josh Freeman will bust.

Bob Costas needs pins driven through his feet and a bullhorn slowly shoved up his ass if he says Michael Turner isn't the best running back in the NFL.

you see, we bash the ESPNs and the NFL Networks for all the NFC East coverage and the Patriots/Colts/Steelers admiration society, but the fact of the matter is all these teams are pretty much the toast of the NFL, the most successful, and that's earned them the media's respect and coverage. The NFC East teams have won 11 superbowls. The Patriots embarked on a dynasty in the early 2000s. Meanwhile, us miserable NFC South fans are filled with misery and loathing because lets face it, comparative to the rest of the league we've pretty much been the runts of the NFL.

Maybe the media thinks the NFC East is a superior division because they're assholes. Or maybe it's because since 2006, the last time the two divisions faced off, the NFC South is an abysmal 1-8 against them, counting the playoff game between Tampa Bay and New York in 2007. Either one.

And I can't vouch for the other teams in this division, but that Panther mentality of "under the radar" has to be one of the biggest abortions of logic and motivation in the history of organized sports. It's pretty much counting on the other team to fail so you can win a game instead of busting your hump to prepare. Of all the fanbases in the South, none count on superstition and obscure statistical patterns ("WE WIN DURING ODD YEARS!"~~~remember that concept?) quite like the Panthers' do from my experience. You Falcon, Bucs, and Saints fans might have your own examples but I'm not savvy on them.

Everybody notices each year there's a different "media favorite" in the NFC South? It's because they don't know which fuging team is actually the best one because none has proved themselves to be head and shoulders above the rest consistently. So either they pick one out of a hat before Sportscenter starts up or they focus on which is the most improved squad personnel-wise.

OMG...I agree with you....

We, the NFC South, think we're entitled to be ranked with the best when we are the loser division of the NFL......I never really considered that until your post....

By far it was Atlanta when Vick was the qb....a very heavy thug fanbase but I've been around all of our foes here in Charlotte the last couple of years and have actually met some decent Falcon, Saint, and Buc fans but it would probably be a little different if we were playing in their house though.
