Top 10 Panthers Photos of 2013

Dec 31 2013 07:43 AM Zod Carolina Panthers
Its was an amazing opportunity to photograph and document the Carolina Panthers 2013 regular season.I thought I would reflect on my favorite photos of 2013.

Here are my personal picks of the top 10 photos I have taken in 2013.

10. He Still Got It - Steve Smith dances for a TD after burning the trash talking Rams secondary. The Rams game was the most physical of the year.

9. Jason Williams punt block. This was a game changing play against the Jets. It began the momentum swing that ended in a Panthers victory.
Posted Image

8. Cam on the Run. In Miami I captured Cam framed perfectly between two other players during a touchdown run. I just love this photo, there not much more to say.

7. Rising Above. Cam and Lafell celebrate after a touchdown pass.
Posted Image

6. Kings of the South - Mike Tolbert leads in a chorus of "Kings of the South" in the Atlanta visitors locker room. Luke is found in the back getting a video of it all.
Posted Image

5. Winning Score - Dominick Hixon is the hero of the day after a last minute touchdown catch against the Saints. Tolbert is there to lift him up as the Panthers celebrate in the background.
Posted Image

4. Cam's Roar - Cam vented a bit against the Giants, letting out the loudest yell of his career.
Posted Image

3. Melvin White's Magic Carpet Ride - Melvin White brings back a Matt Ryan pick 6, diving for the end zone. This was a pivotal play that ended with the Panthers winning the NFC South.
Posted Image

2. Luke in the Rain - During the downpour of the Saints game, Luke Kuechly remained focused. Its always a challenge shooting in a heavy downpour. Visibility is low and focusing is difficult. I will be sure to get a copy of this one signed.
Posted Image

1. Jerry Richardson taking it in. With the Panthers starting 0-2, Jerry Richardson decided to make his presence known. During pregame he left his cart to walk in the end zone and talk to the players. I had never seen him do this before. The stakes were high, and the result was the only shut out of the year. I like to think JR had something to do with that.

Loved your pics all year.  You are getting pretty good at this.  :)  We are lucky to have such talent.  Can't imagine there could be a better fan forum out there.

Thanks Zod.  Looking forward to your playoff series.

Great work as always.

Wonderful.

Your number 4 (cam's roar) would be my number 1. You can tell the roar was exactly that ,not a yell but ,a geniuene heart felt roar. Even caught the attention of Tolbert, Gross, and lafell in the background. Guys that are used to cams celebrations. Breakthrough moment caught on camera. Nice!!
You have a knack and real talent for taking awesome sports photos! I always look forward to seeing your new ones each week.
4 and 1

Great pics...  There are so many others you could have selected, but these are certainly among my favorites too.  Luke's rain pic is probably my favorite overall (and I have to admit that I used it for my FB cover picture last week)

Its been a hell of year.
Thanks Zod, great work all year.......That Jerry pic is epic. If you were ever able to get it blown up and framed I'd love to buy one.
Don't necessarily agree on the order but all of those are fantastic.

That Keek rain pic is insane.

4 stands out for me because it was so apparent that this was a different Cam than before, and it seemed like two years of bottled rage and frustration just exploded out of him in that moment.

Sports photos can easily be iconic, but rarely can be considered artistic. This year especially, the quality of Zod's photos have been just that. They're just visually stunning. Yet another thing that just was going absolutely right during this rare year. Glad we have a talent like this on our message board. It's a unique privilege for us. Thanks and as always, keep up the great work!

You should make that Keek pic Alice's avatar for the remainder of time.

Amazing pictures.
You definitely have come a long ways, and have a great skill.

I can't help but think how good you have it.
To be doing something you love.
To be so close to the team that you/we all love.
And to share it with your fellow fans.

You are a blessed man.
Mike tolbert's man boobs look really sad for some reason in that locker room photo

Somebody should tell them to cheer up, we just won the division

And that's why on my OKCupid profile I said my build was Athletic. I am in fact built like some athletes.

Amazing pics Zod thank you!

Is it possible to buy prints or digital copies with high enough resolution to generate large prints?

Love them all. I especially like the Luke picture in the rain (reminds me of an old photo of a hard nosed defense) and the White pick 6 and Hixon celebration. For some reason I love seeing new kids to our team make a difference and get embraced for it!

The Jerry one is right up there with Luke in the rain. Powerful.

Thanks for documenting a great year!

Great Zod, again thanks a lot! Hope we get three more weeks of great shots,  one of them in the NJ snow.

The last one is hell of a picture, so amazing!!!

Once again! Love your photos man! The JR picture is my favorite. It has an iconi, legendary feel to it if that makes since. My Second fav is the Luke one. That is pure passion and determination! This year feels special

this.

i will remember this touchdown and celebration for the rest of my life.

everyone that was watching with me, including myself, were in complete silence and had goosebumps.

it felt like a franchise changing moment.

The Luke photo should be entered into the National Geographic for taking a photograph of such a rare wild beast.

Very nice work
