Who to Root for Week 4

Sep 25 2013 12:19 PM panther4life Carolina Panthers
Just because this is a bye week does not mean it is not important to the Carolina Panthers.

Here is a list of outcomes that would be beneficial to the cats!

*SOS= Strength of schedule

In order of importance
Dolphins over Saints

Patriots over Falcons

Cardinals over Bucs

Chargers over Cowboys- (NFC opponent loses, lowers the whole NFC east and Saints SOS)

Raiders over Redskins- (NFC opponent loses, lowers the whole NFC east and Falcons SOS)

Broncos over Eagles- (NFC opponent loses, lowers the Whole NFC east and Bucs SOS)

Lions over Bears(Weakens the Saints SOS)

Bills Over Ravens(Strengthens our SOS and lowers the SOS of the NFC North teams)

Jets over Titans(strengthens our SOS and lowers the SOS of NFC West teams)

Chiefs over Giants(go ahead and bury the Giants and it lowers the entire NFC East SOS)

Steelers over Vikings( Go ahead and bury the Vikings and lowers the entire NFC North SOS)

Bengals over Browns - (Lowers the Lions SOS)

Rams over Niners(lowers the SOS Packers for the only downside is this would strengthen the Cowboys SOS)

Texans over Seahawks (doesn't matter much unless we are in competiton for a number 1 or 2 seed at end of year)

Jags over Colts (This game has no effect on us at all but fug every young QB not named Cam)

General rule of thumb moving forward.

Each NFC south team has 2 unique opponents that can help strengthen or weaken overall SOS.
Here's each teams 2 unique opponents. So when in doubt root for our 2 unique opponents and root against their unique opponents.

Panthers
Vikings and Giants

Saints
Bears and Cowboys

Falcons
Packers and Skins

Bucs
Lions and Eagles

If the NFCS loses all their games. I'll blow my load.

lol I'll never remember those unique opponents. I just pull for any AFC team playing an NFC team.  If two AFC teams, I don't care. If two NFC teams, worst record unless NFCS.

If the NFCS loses all there games. I'll blow my load.

Hahahahaha greatest post ever
Falcons, saints, bucs to lose. Oh yea, and rg3 also.

if the redskins lose to the raiders im going to LMFAO

Whoever is playing against the cowboys, redskins, falcons, saints and bucs.

Same as every week.

I fuging fuging fuging hate that I have to root for the Pats.   But I'll do it anyway.

I want everyone in the NFCs to lose and any NFC team playing the AFC to lose.

Damn! Just imagine what you might do if they lost all 'their' games.

I agree with everything accept 49ers Rams game. Fug the 9ers!

Why would we not want the Rams to beat the 49ers?  If the 9ers keep losing while they're hurt then it's going to be tough for them to bounce back.  I would rather the Rams beat them and knock the reining NFC Super Bowl representative, and certain playoff lock, out of the picture.

Great post but I'm still pulling for the Rams over 49ers.  I still think the 49ers are more dangerous and I want them to tailspin.

Due to the media bias against Cam... I root against Kapernick, RG3, Wilson and luck by default.

Good points, I edited it to have the Rams beat the niners and added the Colts/ Jags game just so we can root for Luck to lose.

This is how I think of it. I root for the Falcons to lose every time. Don't think about who they're playing.  It's easier that way and it doesn't hurt so much.

I haven't paid attention to the Dolphins.. do they have a good D this year? I know they had some tight games

You're not rooting for the pats, you're rooting against the falcons.
Arizona over Tampon Bay would be huge. Not only does it keep the Bucs in the basement, when we see Arizona next week, they won't be as desperate for a win, and they will dismiss us as another NFCS basement cupcake and come in thinking it'll be an easy W.

We could really use a loss by the Saints.  I don't think the Fins have much of a chance against them though.

Ties!! Give me lots and lots of ties :)

Nice post, I wouldn´t worry to much about the Cowboys. Someone has to win that awful division so they might as well do it (at least that should mean less talk about THE KNEE).

I doubt the Saints will lose, they are home in their dome and their defense is doing well. But, we'll see. I'm conflicted in situations like these because I'd like our conference (NFC South) to be considered tough and not full of loser teams like the NFC East has become. I mean is it really a big statement to be leading in the NFC East right now? I kind of want some of our divisional teams to win, just not win against us. Maybe that's a weird thought...

Miami is legit this year.

I won't root for Pitt. Good thing they are facing one of our unique opponents. I want to be able to text a friend in a few weeks with "0-6burgh haha".
