Bruce Campbell A Panther...

Aquired via trade for Mike Goodson.

Otah insurance or OT project? Seems to have all the physical skills, but lacking in drive or learning a system.

Well any thing for goodson was a good thing. I think Goodson will also fit more with the Raiders style.
K, did some digging so here's some info on the 4 games he played in last year.

Week 2: Raiders @ Bills
J. Campbell 22/23 2 TD 1 INT | Avg YPC 4.4 | 0 Sacks

Week 3: Jets @ Raiders
J. Campbell 18/27 0 TD 0 INT | Avg YPC 7.3 | 1 Sacks

Week 4: Patriots @ Raiders
J Campbell 25/39 1 TD 2 INT | Avg YPC 5.9 | 0 Sacks

Week 5: Raiders @ Texans
J Campbell 15/35 2 TD 1 INT | Avg YPC 4.3 | 3 Sacks

Things to remember: These are just the games Bruce played in, so it's difficult to know which snaps he was involved in and which ones he wasn't. Also of note is that this was when Jason Campbell and Darren McFadden were healthy and the Texans game was right after Al Davis died so they had som grief momentum going for them.

Notwithstanding all that though, their line seemed pretty stout during those games Bruce played in last year.
Did anyone else see what Bruce Campbell did to Robert Quinn on the OP top video. Look at :40 seconds in.
Lots of potential with this guy.. hope we can tap into it.
Per Walter football.

Raiders acquire RB Mike Goodson from Panthers for OT/G Bruce Campbell
This trade makes sense for both teams. The Panthers had way too many running backs and weren't going to use Mike Goodson anyway. They obtained Bruce Campbell, who has upside. He'll add much-needed depth to the offensive front. The Raiders, meanwhile, had to acquire a runner because Darren McFadden will get hurt at some point during the 2012 season. Goodson would split touches with Taiwan Jones in that scenario.

Oakland won this deal. Goodson has talent, but fumbles a lot. That's a fixable problem though, as Tiki Barber learned under Tom Coughlin. Campbell, on the other hand, is a terrible football player. He's a great athlete, but he lacks football IQ, and thus has never been able to evolve into someone the Raiders could trust to have on the field. Maybe Carolina's coaching staff can turn him into something, but it'll take a miracle at this point.

Grade for Raiders - B+

Grade for Panthers - C+

So he has all the physical traits but its the mental stuff holding him back. With our really good coaching staff and guys like Kallil and Gross he can fulfill that potential with the right mindset.

Our offense will now be called The Army of Darkness.

Lol that's hilarious

My only problem with Campbell is the footwork, guy looks like he's on roller skates sometimes. Hopefully our coaching staff can light a fire under him to either play guard or right tackle if Otah can't stay healthy. Project OT.

He's an OT or nothing. The only way he makes it in the NFL is if he can tap into the ridiculous athleticism.
Wow, it looks like he was predicted to be a good OT. I bet he still has alot of potential. Maybe our staff can pull it out of him and we will have a good starter. I like the trade, because Goodson was about to get his ass cut!
Average traded for average. Let's try not to make this guy into something he's not with combine numbers, fresh start talk, learning from theories, and old draft potential.
@Panthers

Hurney: “We think Bruce Campbell is a very young, talented offensive lineman who has all the physical qualities to play in this League.”
"He played guard his first two seasons with the Raiders, but we will look at moving him to tackle."

Our offense will now be called The Army of Darkness.

Old: "Big Uglies"
to
New: "AOD."
AWESOME!
I wish we had someone named Taiwan Jones on our team
I like this move. Campbell was a monster at Maryland and still has tons of potential.
Does this trade help our chances of inking stewy? I sure hope so.

Haruki Nakamura doesn't do it fer ya?
Damn. They just came right out and said that dude is "terrible". I have never seen that.
I believe the most likely case here is that we are looking at a learning disability. It is possible that the Raiders couldn't cultivate his athleticism due to this. It will be interesting to see if the Panthers can. We have some very intelligent lineman who could lead the way. The Raiders are a team that does not seem very interested in football IQ let alone human IQ.
I forsee great things from this one.
learning disability?? Didn't the cat go to college? holyshit....I wonder how.
I love hip hop but I fuging hate that highlight music holy poo who wants to hear that on a friday afternoon WOW that sucks.
Love the move. Goodson wasn't going to play here, and we can roll the dice on getting a decent guy for the OL. If he winds up being nothing, nothing lost.
If there's any lineman that could help this guy it's Kalil and Gross. We have always developed lineman well. I have high hopes based on his measurables. But I won't be upset if he doesn't pan out, it's not like we gave up much.
Before we start calling him a typical Al Davis era bust, let's remember how we all judged Tyler Brayton before he became a Panther.
He's being converted to DT.

Yeah, he was made fun of a lot, and ended up being pretty good.
I like it. We got something for nothing.
