Carolina Panthers Training Camp Information

Jul 06 2012 05:58 AM Zod Carolina Panthers
It is July once again, which means Wimbledon is on TV. Whenever I see those tennis players on the grass court, I am reminded that Football season is once again just around the corner.

Here are a few tips for those that have not been to training camp before...

1. Yes, practices and parking are free. A schedule of the practices can be found here.

2. You will notice many evening practices this year, but the sun will still be brutal. Shade is at a premium on the hill that overlooks the practice field, get there early if you need to stay cooler.

3. Autographs are signed at the fence that is closest to the facilities. Players typically take the field about 30 minutes prior to the scheduled practice time. Children typically get first dibs on autographs, as it should be.

4. When you arrive, notice where the large lifts are with the video equipment on top. They are there to film the main practices. Whichever field they are pointing at will be the place where some of the best action of the day takes place.

5. The Beacon is a famous place to eat in Spartanburg, but from personal experience, be sure a restroom is near by. The Pizza Inn in Spartanburg is actually a 1980's time warp, the 3 inch skin on the pudding proves it.

6. Bring your camera! Pictures can be taken during practices.

A week from tomorrow....August 7th..mah bday present to meee :D
Through three days (Saturday-Monday) we have seen an increase in attendance of nearly 40%, from 16,362 this time last year to 22,872 so far this year! We had 34,243 total last year!

And, the atmosphere is so exciting ... Saturday evening was like a game day!

Cooler this morning, with a little drizzle. It's in the upper 70s. Chance of rain between 85-95% through noon, but nothing heavy expected. I expect they'll continue with practice unless there's lightning, which is not expected.

Practice starts at 10:30 this morning.
So, is Gary Barnidge Jake Delhomme's younger brother? 02:20: http://www.panthers....9e-c65c1c0babc6
Just a clip of Jonathan stewart running the ball at camp today. Hopefully we will see this in the season

Remember ... today's practice time has been changed to 3:30 p.m. (from the previous 6 p.m.).

And NEW: The practice will be held in Gibbs Stadium this afternoon.

(Note: No Panther Pals program today.)
Do you think today (8/3) is a good day to go? I heard they go light on practice the day before Fan Fest?
Sorry. I rarely actually get to watch practice, so I can't tell you ....

Hopefully we will see this in the season
