Espn's Ten Best Players Returning From Injury (Beason Disagrees)

Full Article: http://espn.go.com/n...asons-shortened

1. Matt Schaub (Houston Texans)
2. Fred Jackson (Buffalo Bills)
3. Peyton Manning (Denver Broncos)
4. Eric Berry (Kansas City Chiefs)
5. Jay Cutler (Chicago Bears)
6. Andre Johnson (Houston Texans)
7. Mario Williams (Buffalo Bills)
8. JON BEASON (Carolina Panthers)
9. Jamaal Charles (Kansas City Chiefs)
10. Adrian Peterson (Minnesota Vikings)

Jon Beason, LB, Carolina: Quarterback Cam Newton may have hearts a flutter in Carolina, but the return of Beason should have people excited as well. He made three Pro Bowls in his first four seasons. He's been the leader of the Panthers' defense since his arrival as the 25th overall pick in the 2007 draft.

And when he tore his left Achilles tendon in last year's season opener, his absence factored heavily into the Panthers' fielding a defense that ranked 28th in the league in total defense and 27th in points allowed. The addition of linebacker Luke Kuechly, the Panthers' first-round pick, will help that unit. The return of Beason will mean even more.

Impact: Beason returns to the Pro Bowl. Carolina's defense won't be dominant, but it won't be awful, either.

In regards to the Panthers defense not being dominant, Beason tweeted the following...

Jon Beason@jonbeason
Just brought to my attention. Not dominant? Lol, yeah right.http://m.espn.go.com...d=7959660&e=RAD

Exactly. Plus he was over 5 yards per carry over the last 3 years, in spite of a poor (for him) 4.1 avg in 2010 when we had no offense and he ended the year on IR.

Forget the contract. I just don't understand why he is held in lower regard than just about any other "star" on the team. It is a bit of a mystery to me.

He's one of my favorite all time Panthers. I don't hold him in low regard. I just don't think extending him with such a high contract is the best decision on team that had so many holes. Is that really a mystery?

DeAngelo is 5+ average for his whole career, which also speaks volumes. Yet people here hate him (or his contract).

Not this guy.
can't wait until the season start...I hate speculating but I feel Beason and Anderson will both have the heart now lets see if the body is up to par
I think our defense will be top 10.

Yes Mario Williams and Eric Berry are better than Jon Beason

Eric Berry thats only played one year in the league....sure.

Williams has been average the past few years, he is not on Beason's level.

You have to put Manning at #1. QB is the most important position by far, and Manning is arguably the league's best.

They picked the right guys, but the order seems random.

The order isn't random, nor is he ranking them according to talent/ability. You have to look at the 'Impact' part to get where the guy's coming from in making the list. He's taking the team talent into consideration and saying a healthy Shaub will do more for Houston's playoff chances than a healthy Manning will for Denver.

I would say Beason is on the same level as Willis and people put Willis in the top players at any position. If Willis was on this list he would be ranked number 1.

oh no, don't be blind. Beason is good, but he is not on Willis's level. He is another kind of talent

thats my MLB

Schaub is better than Cutler and if I was building a team and needed a quarterback or a middle linebacker I would pick Schaub over Beason. Jackons' 5 yard per carry stat over the past 3 years speaks for itself. Just to see how that stacks around the league, Chris Johnson 4.6, Adrian Peterson 4.6, and Maurice Jones-Drew 4.5.

no way schaub is better than cutler. cutler is a beast.
80 year old rb Fred JAckson is number 2 LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

no way schaub is better than cutler. cutler is a beast.

I see that we just lost to Atlanta.
Thought Darren McFadden might be on this list but can't argue with whos ahead of him

Very good point, I forgot about Darren McFadden. He should have found a home on that list especially with Michael Bush no longer with the Raiders.

He is definitely important to the Raiders success if they are to have any.
