Luke Kuechly wins DROY

Luke Kuechly was named the 2012 Associated Press NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year on Saturday night at "NFL Honors" after Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was awarded that honor on offense one season ago. Newton's award was no surprise, and neither is Kuechly's.

and on a sidenote all the bleacher report clowns on twitter are still riding bobby wagners dick saying he was better than Luke (Wagner was awesome though, no doubt), but I wana see what they would say though if Luke played behind a line as dominant as Seattle's

Will be difficult to do better than Hurney in the first round of the draft. Hopefully we will do better in the other rounds though.

How nice would it be if Gettleman could draft us another rookie of the year to make it 3 in a row. Obviously a tougher task than the last 2 years as we're picking closer to the middle this time.

Kuechly received 28 of a possible 50 first-place votes. Seattle LB Bobby Wagner was second with 11; Green Bay CB Casey Hayward 6.

Highly unlikely that we get any more ROYs. They are practically always a QB and a LB, and I'd say we have both of those on lock. Unless we draft the next Revis or the next AJ Green we have our two ROYs for the forseeable future. Wow, what are the odds? The motherfuging Panthers draft, in consecutive years, two ROYs. One to be the centerpiece of the offense in Cam, and one to be the centerpiece of the defense in Luke. If Gett Dawg can hit on more than just the first round (knock on wood) and get an injection of FA talent once in a while, we just might have a good roster sooner rather than later. Now all we need are decent coaches (again knock on wood)

Qbs usually don't get rookie of the years due to the fact they either aren't starting right away or struggling their rookie year. Seeing qbs coming out this dominant is fairly new basically starting at Big Ben. Before him winning then Bradford then cam. Usually they are running backs or wide receivers so theoretically we could still win another if we draft a wr and cam makes him seem amazing

Luke is already more of a leader than Peppers has ever been.

Two totally different personalities. Some people are born leaders...Luke is one, and Peppers isn't.

Peppers was still great for our team, but whatever.
