Mike Wallace?

There's a lot of talk right now that the Steelers may lose Mike Wallace. He's a RFA, but they only cost a 1st round pick now with the new CBA and the Steelers don't have the cap space to franchise him or sign him long-term.

The talk is that plenty of teams would be willing to part with a 1st round pick in order to land one of the best young WR's in the game.

So... would that include the Panthers? The thought of Mike Wallace in this offense is pretty scary. He could be our long-term replacement for Smitty and while a top-10 pick is a steep price to pay, at least we'd be getting a proven player.

I doubt this happens, but it's worth discussing. There seems to be a very real chance the Steelers lose him and the idea of Cam + Mike Wallace is one that's worth at least considering.

Would love to bring him in,well worth the 1st rounder.but we ain't got da money.

We have two 3rd year WRs. Not saying we should get Wallace, but how much longer should let them develop if they don't impress greatly next year?

I'd love Wallace, but he'll be way too much. We do need to be looking
for a new number 1 soon, Smith will be 33 and is in the last year of his contract. No guarantee he'll be back after next season or if he'll play as well as he has in the past or if he'll be healthy all year (he is kind of injury prone), and we don't know how well our WRs will play without Smitty.

We may have our starter for years to come on our roster already, but that's unknown. To say we're set at WR and just completely dismiss it is silly and foolish.

We have 1 3 year wr Gettis didn't play 1 down this year. Still it takes most WR 3 years to reach their potential.
we could give the Steelers a 6th round pick and Armanti Edwards...

get r dun

Restricted free agent Mike Wallace isn't drawing much NFL interest because he wants more money than Larry Fitzgerald: http://is.gd/BvxFdl

Yeah good luck with that Mike Wallace

rookie year was under lame duck Fox and Clausen at QB.....throw it out the window

2nd year....Gettis hurt and LaFell really came on at the end of the season

So, now in the third year, you have a WR in Gettis who was playing one season with a poo QB and another on IR.....kid has NOT been given ANY CHANCE to show what he has. LaFell had one throw away year with Clausen and one year where he came on strong.

Yes, you give them a little more time that they have had.
I seriously wouldn't mind. At 9th, there's no one at any position better than Wallace.

I'd be happy if we got Wallace and a cb in the 2nd (hosley, mannifield, gillmore)

And a dt like crick or ta'amu could be in the fourth for us

I don't want to be like the Falcons. Focusing so much on the offense that the defense doesn't get better. I have a feeling that this draft will be defense based. 2013 can be the year where we can fine tune and look at things like WR with our first pick.

I said I wouldn't mind. I never said I wanted it to happen. And I'm sure he and everyone knows he ain't getting Larry's money. He's probably just trying to set up his range.
He wants Fitz. money plus us give up a ist round. What do you think the odds of that happening?
well in that case, I wouldn't mind $1 million

I don't think we should invest in Wallace as it'll cost to much and our offense is good and only going get better. I much rather use our 1st round pick and money to inprove our defense, with the players coming back from IR we are still pretty thin and weak in spots. really time to concentrate on defense.
