Mini Camp Updates

Mini camp. Fan day

I'll start it off

@SteveReed_AP: WR Armanti Edwards hauls in bomb from Cam and tosses the ball in the crowd. May need some footballs before this is all over today.

@SteveReed_AP: Man, Steve Smith still looks blazing fast at age 33. Don't buy it if he tries to tell you he's getting old

@Panthers: P Harris just flipped the ball to Hangartner for a TD on a fake field goal attempt. Geoff tossed the ball into the crowd.

@josephperson: Rookie WR Lamont Bryant beats Darius Butler for TD in 1-on-1 drill.

I think that's it folks... And all from my cell while at work because the Army "blocks" twitter. Hope this was helpful for those that were too busy. We should be inundated with plenty if articles this evening and in the coming days... Not to mention interviews that will undoubtedly be posted by IvanTheAwesome and FieryProphet.

I'm out

Armanti Edwards= Kenny Moore?
Nakamura was rolling with the first team beside Godfrey, then it was nakamura and Martin the next series. Looks like there might be alot of rotation at the safety spot
Met Darrell Green... he was hanging out at the end of one of the breezeways, there to watch his son, I might have been the only person to recognize him. Shook his hand but didn' t ask for pics or anything, it was clear he was trying to maintain a low profile. Hurney caught wind that he was there and invited him down to the field.

Very cool.

Always liked DG.
Oh and Kerry Colbert was hanging out in the stands... by himself... kinda sad.
During 7 on 7 drills Josh Norman kept Smitty from catching a pass in the endzone and then stared him down with a big grin on his face.
I was there I'll post what my untrained eyes picked up on.

-Kuechly was weak side. Beason Middle. Anderson strong.
-Kuchly and Anderson got the first team nickle snaps. Beason took a few to but mostly Kuechly.
-Thomas Davis watched.
-Josh Norman was first team nickle on the outside with Captain on the slot.
-Josh Norman covered Steve really well on a play or two.
-In 1 on 1 drills the recievers almost always beat the dbs but Captain would grab his guy.....
-Seyji Ajiritutu got first team snaps in 3 reciever sets. Gettis appeared to sit out drills vs. D
-Armanti made himself easy to cover. multiple DBs made plays on him.
- Clausen threw two picks and got booed a little.
-Derek Anderson looked accurate and even ran a little
-This was the Mike Tolbert party. He caught, he ran, he blocked Kuechly out of a play.
-Mike Tolbert took snaps at FB, HB, Single back sets, and moved around in the backfield.
-LaFell looked great.
-Darvin Adams looked bad. Slow and dropped passes.
-Frank Alexander went hard and showed explosion in rushing drills.
-McClain stood out for his explosion in drills as well.
-Fua was pretty quick to.
-Charles Johnson sat out and Applewhite took first team snaps at DE with Hardy
-Nakamura and Martin shared snaps at first team free Safety
-Kuechly picked off Jimmy and took it to the house, Cam ran him down jokingly
-Cam was generous with his time with fans. Goofed around and signed autographs.
-Steve Smith is always generous with his time.
-Great turnout, I thought I'd walk in and get a front row seat, it was packed.
-Players threw balls into the stands to cheers from the fans.

If you guys have any specific questions post em, we can try to answer.

Took some notes to post later...

Glad you made it. I do enjoy your viewpoint when attending...... and great detail in the summary. A Mr. Scot practice review is better than reading an Observer 4 sentence review
Just got back from the mini camp practice. Josh Norman is definitely the real deal. He got alot of burn with the first team today. He made a great play on the ball in the endzone when guarding Smitty. I was able to record the play from afar. I'm not sure who said he shut Smitty down though, because that wasn't the case. There was one play where Smitty put a little double move on Josh causing Josh to lose his footing.

Also Tolbert catches the ball out the backfield like no other. He's going to be a huge mismatch for opposing defenses.
how did Hardy look today at 299?

-Darvin Adams looked bad. Slow and dropped passes.

Was he any better in the return game (if there were any punt return drills)?

Was he any better in the return game (if there were any punt return drills)?

Darvin Adams is #86 from Auburn, Cam's old teammate.

Joe Adams is #15 from Arkansas, who is the receiver that return punts.

jk. read Joe for some reason.
Oh and there was a couple plays were Kuechly blitzed from the weak side. Obviously they aren't going to show many blitzes in a public practice but they sent him a couple times. Practices are supposed to be no contact so you couldn't really say how effective he is at doing it.
Double post..delete
What's the word on hogan?

Was he any better in the return game (if there were any punt return drills)?

Joe Adams and Armanti took the punts. It was more or less catching and letting them go into the endzone drills. No real action. Darvin isn't expected to contribute in the return game.

What's the word on hogan?

I did not see Hogan out there. I looked for him but didn't notice him. Sometime guys dreads block their nameplates but I didn't notice him.

Looks like Josh Norman has already surpassed him at the nickle spot, and it wont be long until he's the #2 corner.

Capt. belongs in the nickle spot. If Norman pans out Hogan could find himself competing for the 3rd/4th spot..

and Joe didn't take snaps in the 7 on 7s from what I recall. He made a few nice catches in 1 on 1 drills. I was happy with what he did. Looks bigger than i expected.

how did Hardy look today at 299?

Hardy does not look 299. He carries it well. Just looks like a big strong guy. Moves well.
any video of the OTA's?

I do think they are overdoing the Brothers of the Sun advertising on the Panthers site. However, that WILL be a great show.

I will be there....tailgating before.

Have a double pitcher blender purchased and ready to plug into the generator......will be mixing up Rum Runners and Margaritas all afternoon long.
