Hardy found guilty

Jul 15 2014 08:03 PM Jeremy Igo Carolina Panthers
Greg Hardy was found guilty of assault against his girlfriend after 12 hours in a Charlotte courtroom Tuesday.

The judge told the court that Nicole Holder's testimony and injuries were consistent with abuse. Hardy was sentenced to 60 days suspended, meaning he will not serve the time in prison, as well as 18 months probation. He is to have no contact with Holder.
The defense did request an appeal for the Panthers defensive end.

The assault on a female and communicating threats charges stemmed from an altercation on May 13.

Hardy and Holder traded their accounts of that evening on the stand, offering essentially opposite stories. According to court documents, Hardy had been angry about her brief relationship with rapper Nelly after she and Hardy broke up. The two got into an argument that led to a physical altercation, the police report says.

On the stand Tuesday, Holder described a relationship that was “wonderful at first, but he became very controlling and manipulative,” she said.

Way to go, Hardy.

Now to see what the suspension will be.

Probably not the best use of 10% of our cap space, but oh well.

And the guy is guilty. Stop making stupid excuses cause you like the jersey he wears.
Will be interesting to see what Big Cat does...

One thing we know...2014 is Hardy's last year as a Panther

Well sh*t

Hardy is done here for sure. I followed the entire thread and I'm shocked. The cops statements in court, the cocaine use, the flying weed and the judge said her account seemed more believable?

I think hardy is going to take this to trial.

And for those that missed the tweet. When the verdict was announced holder turned to her friend and gave a "small smile". Wtf
Based on tweets of testimony, I think he would have won jury trial

Whether it goes to trial or not....his fate in Carolina is already sealed IMO.

He is appealing and requesting a jury trial.

I have no idea whether he's guilty or not, but I'd agree the reaction from many here is sheer stupidity.  Especially the automatic 'gold digger' theory.

You don't know somebody just because you're a fan of the team they play for.  Heck, Graham Gano could be a serial killer for all we know.

Whatever happened, truth is that Hardy's repeatedly demonstrated bad judgment.  This is just the worst, and saddest, example.

Such a shame big picture...

Could of gone down as one of our franchise greats. Absurd talent.

Oh well. All aboard the Star train.

Yeah to even be involved in that situations shows poorly on how he manages himself in high risk situations. There's plenty of tweets and instagrams of players out of the lake happy with their families or girlfriends. Plenty of players enjoy clubs, alcohol, or even weed without getting caught.

Hardy is done here for sure.

Little doubt of that.

However many games he plays this season, those will be the last he plays in a panther uniform.

The judge is a feminist lesbian lover. Of course she is going to stick it to Hardy. This case is complete bull poo!

It is what it is.

You make repeated poor decisions and bad things happen. Hardy did this to himself. No point in bashing the judge
Wonder how many games hell get

The fact that she immediately says that she is going to take him to civil court does not mean anything to you?

Sure glad we're using 13 mil for this guy instead of getting an OT, some OL depth, and some help at CB and maybe WR.

Looks like you got a spot on your white armor.

Who cares

Nelly is banned from the Huddle for life. That includes his music.
