Jonathan Stewart may make a comeback beginning this weekend against the Rams, but Rivera is not showing his hand..

Ron Rivera says is cautiously optimistic regarding the return of RB Jonathan Stewart. The team will put him through some workouts this week.

Pretty smart of Ron not to give St Louis a heads up until he has to. I am not sure if we should expect to see Stewart or not. The first injury report is out on Wednesday afternoon. Expect Stewart to be on it, and probably as doubtful.

I wish we could trade Stewart for Nicks, Britt, Gordon, or a young talented OL.

rivera also noncommittal if McNutt will start at WR

Stew said he could play "if needed" but may take a few weeks.

We're 2-3 I think everyone is "needed".  Good lord what has he been doing?  Training for the Tour de France obviously.

I thought with PUP he had to be out 6 games ?

I thought with PUP he had to be out 6 games ?

It's week 7 next week

I mean, what's his status?  Has he been well enough to train/run?  Or is he just now to the point he can START that?

I R Confused...

I could give a fug about Stewart. Trade him and his contract.

I feel like he's going to activated, there's a reason Amini hasn't been put on IR yet. Stewart will take his spot on the roster.

At this point I gives no fugs about names. Just want W's and consistency.

"Stewart is focused on a return to action for Week 7, the earliest he will be eligible to return from the PUP list."

Jones reported he looked fast in practice today.

Jonathan Stewart said realistically probably needs a couple weeks before he would play in a game.

Rivera doesn't need to state the obvious. I think everyone is just assuming that McNutt will be starting as our #1 on Sunday.

Obviously a mistake.  The NFL rules state 6 weeks.  We had our bye in week 4.  Lots of writers see 6 weeks and think 6 games.  IF and thats a big if, Stew is healthy and can contribute he can return this week against Stl.

Stewart would say this every week if he could, even when healthy.

Stewart said he expects to play this season. Still dealing with discomfort in right ankle.

I see his return hurting us instead of helping us, we already have one of the better rushing attacks in the NFL. We are set with D-Lo Tolbert and Cam.

Maybe use him in the passing game?

I had seen the rules listed different in some places. Some said 6 games , some 6 weeks with the bye week being the confusing factor.

I feel like he's going to activated, there's a reason Amini hasn't been put on IR yet. Stewart will take his spot on the roster.

hmmmmmmmmmmm

I guess, but I'm not getting my hopes up. St. Louis still has to prepare for Cam, D-will, and Tolbert. I don't think Stewart playing would change their game plan.

Jones reported he looked fast in practice today.

Well that's good...  I guess the question then is what he needs to do to get up to speed on the offense.

Honestly I wouldn't think that much...  on running plays...  take the ball and know what direction to go.  Blocking assignments could be an issue though...

Why would Amini and Stewart be linked?

lol, this is fuging ridiculous. I bet he is IR'd before season's end.

Why would Amini and Stewart be linked?

Well, we have already replaced Amini with a center. Person said they haven't IR'd him because it would be a waste of a game check to sign somebody who wouldn't play.

He needs to take his time and get healthy.
D-Will is holding it down for now
