When the Carolina Panthers chose wide receiver DJ Moore in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft they made a statement about the quality of their receiving corps. Now it appears that statement is paying dividends. Pro Football Focus has recently ranked DJ Moore as the best rookie wide receiver in the NFL. Next in line is Calvin Ridley who the Carolina Panthers were also very interested in ironically enough.
Moore had a fantastic showing most recently against the Baltimore Ravens. Moore’s 90 receiving yards and 28 rushing yards gave the Carolina Panthers offense a much needed infusion of speed and ability. Moore’s yards after catch reminded Panthers fans of something they have not seen since a guy named Steve Smith.
At this point, there is little doubt in my mind that DJ Moore should be starting opposite Devin Funchess. Time will tell if this is the case once Torrey Smith is healthy again. I suspect Ron Rivera will bench more in favor of the veteran player, as Ron Rivera has been known to do. Let’s hope this isn’t the case.
Agree? Disagree? You can sound off right here with thousands of Carolina Panthers fans.
