OTA Observations

He looks like an offensive lineman on a bike...no way to gauge whether or not he's overweight from that picture (relatively speaking).

Sorry man, offensive lineman or not, dude looks straight up sloppy fat.

Hog Mollies are not svelte.

He needs to get to eating.

He can be fat all he wants. If he is quick off the ball, has good feet, and can move other fat men with ease, then he can be as fat as he wants.

For all we know he could be swartzenagger (I know I botched that) underneith a 5 inch layer of fat.

For all we know he could be a really good G but we would never know it. Unless there were injuries in college I don't think this 4th round Hogan falls on Gettleman

I'm not giving G-man a pass on him.  He was considered a huge reach in the 4th by virtually everyone.  He's a small school guy with awful combine numbers.

Hopefully he gets healthy and proves me wrong, but I sincerely doubt he's an NFL player.

You have a good point, but considered a reach by who? Unless we've seen the draft boards of the actually NFL teams with real scouts and GMs. Just because ESPN guy and NFL network guy or Yahoo guy didn't have a good grade on him doesn't mean he was a reach.

Also, like I said He could be a good G! But we would never know because injuries? How could gettleman predict injuries if they weren't problems in college?

I have some hope that Chandler can be serviceable at LT.  He's got the athleticism, pretty good feet.  There's some tools there to work with.  I'm pretty sure Bell would be an unmitigated disaster at LT (or any position).

I really want to see the Canadian get a real shot at RT.

The Canadian looks pretty bad even in OTA's, so I am not sure why u would want that.

Because OTA's are pretty meaningless.  I want to see him in a game.

Here is a clue... If you look bad in OTA's, you don't want to put the pads on. It gets worse.

We're talking about practice, man.  We're talking about practice.  We're not even talking about a game.

We're not even talking about practice really.  It's a starting point to learn the system and get your feet wet.  I'm not going to throw the towel in on a guy because he has a couple of shitty OTAs.

Who is throwing the towel in on him? I am simply saying he looks awful in OTA's which will translate to him looking really awful once the pads are on in camp. His feet are extremely slow, Johnson and Hardy will eat him alive. He is a 3 year project minimum.

You wanting him to compete right now at tackle is nuts.

The pick was a reach dude, no question. I'm not roasting Gettleman for it or anything, can't hit on all of them.

If we can get anything out of him this point we would be pretty lucky.

If Gettleman's worst drafting issue is a later round reach once a year... I'll take it.

    • I don't believe anything Joe Biden says in public for the same reason I don't believe anything Donald Trump has to say in public.  Because they both have extensive records of constantly lying to the public for personal gain. I'm not about to believe Joe Biden, at this late date in his campaign, much less his life, is turning over a new leaf.  Joe Biden lacks credibility.  Anyone that take an objective look at his political career knows this. In other words, actions speak louder than words.  Joe's actions strongly indicate he will serve his corporate masters while screwing over the American public to feed his narcissistic tendencies. No Sale.
    • The 2 we signed played because the starters went down. They are solid backups, but backups nonetheless. I wouldn’t bet any money any rookie from last year steps up. The washed up left tackle we signed will be a good coach but I will be absolutely ecstatic if he can pull off just an average season. No one on the line is starter quality except Moton...that’s a fact. That’s been true for basically the past 10 years besides 1 or 2 players. But yes speaking of this year the oline and secondary are both in bad shape. And you’re correct our coaches have a history of caring more about the oline. Hopefully phase 2 next year of the rebuild this team can finally properly invest in it.
    • My prediction is that the GOP plans to win solely on suppressing turnout. 1) Biden already has historically low levels of voter enthusiasm. They will continue to hammer away at him to drive this down even further. They don't care that people prefer Biden, as long as they don't like him enough to actually show up and vote. 2) They will do everything to prevent mail-in voting completely, or to make it as tough as possible. 3) They will push the narrative that COVID19 is no big deal, numbers are being faked, it's all overblown by the media, ect, ect, to their supporters and right wing media outlets. This deflects blame from their incompetent response while also allowing their supporters to have no reservations about showing up to vote in person. Because of this they can't cancel the convention. Not only do they have to push for it, but they are going to push to have it with little or no restrictions. If they have any real restrictions at all, they will complain the whole time that it's the evil Dems forcing them to. Have to keep that "it's no big deal" narrative going. Then in November, when numbers are spiking from a second wave, liberals (who actually take the virus seriously) are going to be faced with voting in person, during a global pandemic, when they're already luke warm on Biden. Maybe they just stay home, while the rabid Trumpers who think it's a liberal hoax all show up. Ultimately, the election will come down to whether they can stop mail-in voting or not, that's what will decide it.
