I would like to believe that people can change and be redeemed from big mistakes in the past. His identity was that of a dog abuser which I believe has riots in sociopathy. Maybe it's changed. I hope it has.
He had a big ol light shone on that world and that life he was in. Hopefully he saw it for what it was and had a shot of empathy put into his veins.
From what I've heard and seen about him since getting out, it may have. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Doesn't excuse what he did in the past or make his old mistakes disappear, but I believe a person can fundamentally change who they are once they have their eyes opened up. If he has, then that should be celebrated. Not his past celebrated, mind you, but the positive change he made.
That should always be celebrated.
