Those stats do show the biggest thing Cam needs to improve on next year in my opinion: he runs backwards before getting sacked and loses huge yardage.

He's so big but he believe in his athletic ability so much this is where he has always gotten bitten in his career if the OL-man gets bull-rushed.

Cam Newton also had 10 rushing TDs and is 4th in the NFL in first downs on the ground.....on top of his passing production.  Which is HUGE.  But when talking QB talk people try to dismiss it b/c it isn't a QB stat.  Which has Cam reminds people, he is a football player first.

That is why he is the MVP and not someone like Russell Wilson this season....and that trumps completion % edge.  Simple and plain.

Seahawk fans need go drink some of their QB's witchcraft water to make them feel better

You mean bitchcraft, considering.

If you look at stats, why not throw losses in the pile?

  • Wilson is notthing but stats--Cam is everything beyond them.

Cam could take the immediate sack.  But keep in mind if he does that....all the times where he bails back and then makes a play only Cam can make (like the crazy NE run)....those won't exist anymore either.

so if you want those crazy great plays you have to be willing to take some bad

I would say that RW can come over to cam's house to see the trophy, but cam will probably keep it on a shelf above RW's eye level.

It still burns me when I think of the pundits yapping on about "the Panthers won because the Seattle D busted a coverage".  Yes that was the game winning drive but it's not like we didn't score on 3 other 80 yard drives before that play.  It's no wonder those fans are insufferable, the media is all over them.  To quote Ron Rivera before our last Seattle game, "they had their time......it is our time now."  Seahawks better get used to that idea because they have to come cross country to us this time and they don't have the crowd noise to help them through the playoffs.  Speaking of crowd noise.....I hope BOA is rocking and shows them what REAL crowd noise is all about.

There is no need to tear down Wilson's accomplishments to make Cam look better.

We know Cam is the major reason for our team's success.

The team with the best record in the NFL this year.

Sounds like League MVP to me.

I realized some time ago that the bullshit and disrespect that Cam is facing is what historically happens during a paradigm shift.  Galileo was poo on.  Copernicus, Bruno, Descartes, Newton (Sir Isaac), Halley, Darwin, Hubble, Bertrand Russell.  The list is endless, and spans a large range of disciplines (military science, science, etc). Cam Newton is the paradigm shift.  Consider the MVP award the only "mea culpa" that the naysayers and doubters in the media will offer.  It's sad that a lot of these idiots refuse to embrace greatness; I'm not sure even the Lombardi Trophy will change that.

If you removes all drops, Cam has a better completetion % than Wilson. Hell if you remove just Ginn's drops, he beats Wilson. Ted Ginn has almost as many drops by himself as the entire Seahawks team.
