We all talk about our favorite all time Panthers. Names like Pep, Smitty and Cam come to mind. But Luke stands head and shoulders above all of them for me. He personified football intelligence. He could single handedly take over a game, and did just that many, many times. His toughness, intelligence and leadership are the benchmark for all linebackers learning to play the game. He left it all on the field, every game. I'm glad my kids had a chance to see him play the game.
Would have been great 20 years ago. Guy is a throwback. I mean he's probably good, but pretty one dimensional.
Thing is, there's an old school market for a guy like him. Seems like the kind of QB a defensive minded coach would like... 4 or 5 years into their career.
