Paa Langfart

dotards dog and pony show of victims of "illegals"

Recommended Posts

sorry gang, looks like it doesn't start till about the 25 minute mark.  But in case you don't want to watch I can summarize.

Brown skinned folks, not lucky enough to be born in the United States,  are evil and will kill you all and THAT is the reason the best president in the history of the universe took children from their parents and put them into cages.

Dotard doesn't seem to understand the most simple of facts:

People have the right to show up at our borders, any of our borders, and request asylum for any of several reasons as dictated by law. How is someone showing up at the border and requesting asylum an "illegal immigrant?" They're not even in the country, therefore they are not illegal, nor are they an immigrant.

People showing up at the border crossing stations and requesting asylum have committed no crime, have not entered the country, legally or illegally. They have not been processed through the border, how the fug are they "illegal?"

the right has their marching orders

Their gameplan will be "Dems want open borders" (a lie) and "illegal immigrants are coming to murder your family" (race baiting). Classic GOP.

Why dont they request asylum at the US embassy in Mexico if they are truly seeking asylum?  Then they have to prove what they are seeking asylum from....educate yourself please!!

Coming from someone with a 4th grade education, that's rich.

You should probably have someone read and color you pictures of the asylum laws in this country since you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. But, here's a hint nonetheless: the US Embassy in any country cannot grant asylum. Only the US Immigration Courts can grant asylum. The embassy can grant temporary asylum, but then they have to house and feed any of those requesting asylum until such time their case is heard in Immigration Court, and the US then has to transport those people to the US for their case.

You can go back to watching the Cartoon Network now.

And it doesn't have to be at an official station. It has long been understood that if you present yourself to an official as seeking asylum no matter how you got here you are afforded protections.

This is from Article 31 of the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees:
Non-penalization, Detention and Protection.

Quote

1. The Contracting States shall not impose penalties, on
account of their illegal entry or presence, on refugees
who, coming directly from a territory where their life or
freedom was threatened in the sense of Article 1, enter or
are present in their territory without authorization,
provided they present themselves without delay to the
authorities and show good cause for their illegal entry or
presence.
2. The Contracting States shall not apply to the
movements of such refugees restrictions other than those
which are necessary and such restrictions shall only be
applied until their status in the country is regularized or
they obtain admission into another country. The
Contracting States shall allow such refugees a reasonable
period and all the necessary facilities to obtain admission
into another country.

Here is a description of how things worked prior to march 2018:

Quote

If you have entered the United States without permission, or stayed beyond the expiration date of a visa or other permitted stay, then you are considered an "undocumented" (or in common language, "illegal") immigrant. Applying for asylum may be an option for you, if you fear returning to your home country and do not have residency rights in any other country.

You would need to either submit an application on your own (an "affirmative" application), within certain time limits, or if you are caught by the immigration authorities, apply for asylum during your immigration court hearing. The fact that you are in the U.S. illegally is no bar to applying for asylum -- though it may cause you to be picked up by the immigration authorities, which would mean you'd have to skip the first, affirmative application step, such that the first hearing on your claim would be in immigration court (also called the "Executive Office for Immigration Review" or "EOIR").

Keep in mind that along with zero tolerance the administration has also removed gangs/crime from the list of reasons to seek asylum leaving only persecution due to beliefs. Additionally they are severely limiting access to ports of entry or even closing them.

Can you imagine what would happen if the media screamed bloody murder every time someone in the country illegally murdered a citizen, like they do any time there's a questionable cop shooting of a black person?  Of course that would never happen because they are just trying to keep the Dem base energized. If they really cared about out of control cops they would show all the white people they beat up and kill also, but that never happens. Wonder why??

Because, as you said, it almost never happens.
