Since it appears you typed that all yourself instead of copying and pasting bullshit, I'd say the chances of you turning Republican are pretty slim.

Capitalism is bad?

There are pros and cons to capitalism but I can't understand why anyone would say it's bad. It's responsible for some of the best things in our society and many of the advancements we've made.

A lot of our societal problems are directly tied to capitalism.

I think one could make a somewhat valid, coherent argument that capitalism drives things like innovation, etc. But, it isn't the only stimuli to those things. Those successes could happen under another economical system.

Capitalism is bad because it basically puts a price tag on everything and makes it either A. available to those who can afford it, or B. the output of a wage slave that serves a corporation or governing entity.

It breeds greediness and hoarding. It sets up the entire class system. It makes intangible things worth something while neglecting basic progressive things like education.

Touch screens - government funded

Major drug breakthroughs - government funded

Energy advances - Government funded

It can be highly argued our society would actual advance a lot quicker and further if a socialist view was taken for advances as opposed to a capitalist one.  We live in a hybrid society.

Capitalism absolutely drives invention and it was the force behind the scientific revolution. I'm surprised by this limited view. Yes capitalism has it's negative impacts but a look back at history should prove to most that capitalism is far from "bad".

The university system existed before modern "capitalism".   This is the foundation of scientific advances - capitalism has been a stumbling block as it actively blocks scientific research that would benefit the common man.  The profit motive is way to great to let capitalism advance our scientific endeavors.

Actually what proves my point is the academic drive to move towards open access and open sourcing.  The world is not going to advance via capitalism - its actually easy to see historically that the base economic theory of capitalism is harmful to scientific and society advances.
