Opinions: if Rivera goes, so does Turner

Recommended Posts

So if Rivera gets the boot this off season, chances are that Turner would go also.....or not?He surely has made Cam into a better QB in many ways. Some great playcalling and some not so great.

A new coach would probably want to pick his own staff. So it is probably the case he is gone. Who do you want as a new OC in this offense heavy league?

Rivera staying the national media is going to force him to play Samuel and for the first time non injury changes are coming but they'll probably say his leg hand something's not right with Fun instead of making him face the music. We're running the table  Super Ooowwll is that it?

I really like what Turner has done with the offense, but if Rivera goes I fully expect a young, aggressive offensive minded coach to be brought in so that softens the blow.

I think Norv was done as a coach and had settled in for retirement.  He came here because of his friendship with RR .  Once Ron gets the ax I would bet my bank account Norv is gone regardless of whether or not he is offered a coordinator job.  One thing that might change that opinion would be if NT was offered the head coaching gig.  He might go for that.

Scott Turner for HC.

Problem solved.

That's a bold move there, Cotton.

All I want is a head coach that wins 19 games a year and wins every Super Bowl, has players break every record and drafts only hall of famers.

NO.

He has done well, compared to Shula, that's not saying much.

Still, I'm just about done with this offense. While I'd like an offensive orientated coach, I want a new, fresh offensive mind and look. One with much faster pace than Norv like Payton or Reid.

Not to mention I am tired of all the carry overs the Panthers do and promoting within type things. Hire guys who know what they're doing and trust their judgment in the coaches and personnel they surround themselves with. This includes a new GMs opinion on players or coaching.

Is that the deal?

OK, then... done.

There are offensive coaches out there that are the equal or better than Norv Turner.  A new head coach might even be likely to either be or hire one of them.

Who's to say if Rivera goes, he doesn't apply for the HC position himself?

If I was Tepper here is what I would do. If Rivera goes, Hurney goes. The new GM will have 100% authority on everything. I mean everything. You can't hire people to do a job, then turn around and pull the rug from under them like JR did Gettleman
