PSL's are a big part of our problem.
From the team's perspective, I understand it. It practically guarantees a "sellout" every week.
However, for the most part, PSL owners also ensure our continued mediocrity. They invest many thousands of dollars just for the right to spend more money! It's nuts! Once that initial investment is made, how many people can bring themselves to just walk away? Instead, they buy those tickets every year and in down years either just don't go to the game or try to sell the tickets.
It's the same psychological behavior that video game makers in certain genres exploit. Once you have enough investment, you are loath to give it up.
