If Cam doesn’t get surgery what’s gonna stop his shoulder from giving out next season?

He needs to get the surgery. He tried it the PT way and it didn't respond. Surgery,Sit,and come back strong.

Our crack medical staff blew it this year

our owner needs to get involved and get Cam on board with what needs to get done...now

One thing is for certain...we have to have a QB that can throw the ball

We need that to be Cam...but if he can’t do it, we have to do something

The pick 6 and hit by Watt in the Steeler's game was the end of our season.

Honestly the end of the season was when Ron and Hurney knew about that shoulder, and yes they did know, and didn’t bother to either trade for a backup or draft a qb to be a backup

thats the truth of the matter.

We can go into the offensive line and all of that but they did nothing to secure a decent backup knowing their qb1 had shoulder surgery

and even better, knowing the shot Newton on that shoulder in the Steelers game, they left him in after it and even being blown out, left him in

i swear to god. Had I been tepper, they would have been fired that night for stupidity

Nothing.....if he hasn’t had surgery yet since the season ended he isn’t having it.  My bet is he’s done as a long range passer.  That shoulder injury won’t heal to 100% and he will wear down again.

He need to get the surgery sit out a year. During that time he can work on his footwork and mechanics. If he comes back and doesn't succeed call it a career. In the meantime we need to be looking for a QB that can win now.

Cam has not had surgery because there is nothing on his mri that suggests it needs to be surgically repaired.

And that itself is more worrisome than anything.

This right here.

How would anyone posting in this thread know if Cam requires surgery this off season or not?

That is, unless you are Cam or his doctor.

Resting his shoulder may be the recommended/best/only course of action.

I think we are screwed. He probably goes to training cam looking great, starts the season looking good, then takes a hit in the shoulder and then it’s season over again.

then the staff gets fired for not making s player protect from themselves— making him go get it taken care of and taking a conservative approach to his recovery

Those speculating the loudest that his arm is done at 29 years old have already made their minds up about this years ago. That's why their post count spiked when we started losing. They just want him out the door.

We know that everyone involved is highly incentivized  to make sure he comes back 100% healthy. He will have access to the best doctors and treatments. With a cap hit of 23 million in 2019 we have to know his condition as soon as possible so we know what options we have.

Nothing has been said about Cams arm— has anyone seen anything? Who knows, maybe he’s getting it evaluated?

    • I love Cam the football player, and even that he has his own fashion style, but I gotta say that’s one weird and awful outfit. But if Cam needs to express himself on and off the field to maximize his football potential...fug it. He can walk around with his dick in a box for all I care so long as he wins us some games.
    • Look  It really looks like Kemba is staying.  He just loves it here. We arent moving any big contracts.  No one is touching Batum, Biz, etc.    And we are going to be stuck with them this year and atleast next with Batum.  Sucks but its the truth  At 12, in this draft, we aren't going to bring anyone to truely move the needle.  Not Hachimura, not Clarke, etc.  They will be nice role players, but we need more than that.   As long as Kemba is here, this team will be stuck in purgatory.  We NEED to get a guy with Star potential.  A guy to be a sidekick to Kemba while we are handcuffed to these contracts     Trading a future 1st for Coby White or Reddish will be well worth it.  IF the guy flops, we just gave up a pick thatll end up being a 12th-14th pick for a guy with huge upside.  If the guy comes right in like people expect.  We get over the hump into the playoffs as the last seed (hey atleast its something).  When we finally shed these contrants and open the cap, we will be a much more intriguing for FAs with Kemba and a young stud vs playing this yearly Kemba and the avg role players.
