Captain Morgan

Devin tweeting about Miami next season

Recommended Posts

Really tho, all it says is "Miami next year".  Could be talking about anything like where to go on vacation.  Isn't the SB in Miami next year? He might be talking about going to the SB with the Panthers

That's probably him stating his goal for the upcoming season.  Wherever he is, I highly doubt he's going to be a key cog in a team making it to the Super Bowl.

I don’t know why anyone would want to go to a perpetual loser that hasnt been relevant since early Dan Marino.

He should be banging down doors to get on the teams that are up and coming and offense happy— the Chiefs signing KB for last resort insurance is an example.

Yeah. That tweet's too generic to really say anything about his future with us, I think.

Besides, anybody talking to him right now would be accused of tampering.

Not reading much into this

Probably just, his goal is to get to Miami next year (the superbowl). Doesnt Necessarily mean with us, just in general no matter the team he is with

We could theoretically give other teams permission if we've already moved on which it seems we have. Not likely though.

Or he's planning to sign with the Patriots which if Tom Brady comes back he's all but guaranteed to see a Brandon LaFell like resurgence season capped off with a Superbowl win in Miami. Fun Fun playing 4D chess.

I mean, nobody honestly expects him to play for the Panthers next season, do they? he gone. barely playing him and targeting him even less in the 4 or so weeks leading up to his UFA status was all the hints anybody needs to know that.

    • It's not horrible to discuss. I think it's a good topic. My original post was criticizing stbugs for ridiculing people who are holding out hope that Gaulden might put it together this year. I have no problem with a healthy debate. It's still probably too early to say for sure we made the wrong decision. Sure it's looking that way but as others have said, Gaulden has had a steep learning curve. Let's at least give him another year before we conclude that it was a big mistake not trading up for Reid over Gaulden. Gaulden might prove to be a serviceable starter, or heck, Reid might make an all-pro team while Gaulden gets benched for Colin Jones and then we really f'ed up. I just think we have to give mid-round picks a couple years before we finalize the verdict. You're probably right, but I think if you're a Panthers fan, you're also hoping that you're wrong.
    • Maxed out???  We currently have almost 10 million in cap space and are about to add another 7+ million from the Kalil cut in a week.  By no means are we maxed out, or even cap strapped in the slightest. The issue isn't whether we have the money to sign him (we do), it's whether the team feels his value is worth the price it will take to get him.
    • Agree with all, and would just like to add that a new OC typically takes a year to get to know his pieces. The 2nd full season is usually when things open up.
