CMC, not Cam, is the face of the Franchise

You don't think Tomlinson was more the face of the Chargers than Rivers?

Rivers only played 2 seasons with LT. The two seasons they played together were LT's best and Philip's worst. Different circumstance.

Matter of fact it proves @PhillyB to be correct, bc Philip was not a good QB yet, he was simply a game manager in 2006 and 2007.

I'm not saying you've jumped the shark with this idea, but you've definitely jumped the gun. Pump the brakes a bit.

Cam is still the face of the franchise and barring some really bad news on that shoulder, he'll be it for a few years to come. CMC is excellent and would be one of the greats if he can continue this throughout his career, but he hasn't gained Cam's stature yet.

And Luke, man, you can't forget about Luke.

We've got some great players here. If the injury bug flies off to somewhere else, the team could be pretty amazing.

Sounds like this was a Cam Newton interview with Christian McCaffrey talking for Cam.

Love CMC, but he isn't on Cam's level nationally.

I think this would only be possible if Cam does not recover from his surgery  and has a terrible year and CMC lights it up again next year .  Who cares which is the face of the franchise . We just want the team to win !

running backs are only the faces of franchises with bottom ten quarterbacks

See Giants, NY as an example (yeah, I know Eli won two SBs, but he’s not very good anymore and even he knows that)

CMC is the offense and Cam is the one who wins games in those cracks where the gameplan aint doing poo.

I still think Cam is the international face of the franchise and CMC will be integral but over time we will see he will be stoic & not what media thinks he will be like that Cam can only get bigger. Add that I think Cam is even HANDICAPPED in SEC country. People assume that any star athlete that comes from the SEC that people just admire them. Some or most times they even disregard them and disrespect them more. Especially if you're not an Auburn fan. Which isn't a huge SEC presence compared to other teams.

You can't outshine the most important position in football. CMC will get his turn eventually just not now.

It happens all the time.

    • You seem the one with the agenda. Truth is regardless of your negative feelings about Norv and what he didn't do in Minnesota, the Panthers offense looked pretty potent until Norv couldn't scheme around Cam's shoulder once teams figured out that he couldn't throw the deep ball. With all our weapons and Norv in control this offense is going to be top 10 in points scored which is the only stat that counts. What really matters is not the past but the present and immediate future.  Norv has done a great job adapting the offense around Cam and our options. Apparently he must have learned a ton of things virtually overnight because all the things you are accusing him of lacking, he did a great job of exhibiting last season.
    • We are spending $80 billion a year to lock up 2.2 million people, hundreds of thousands of whom have not been convicted of a crime and are solely in jail because they can’t afford their bail. We are criminalizing poverty. And because of the historical legacy of racism in this country, we are disproportionately criminalizing African Americans, Latinos, and Native Americans. With increased detention of immigrants under the Trump administration, private prisons are becoming more widespread and more profitable. We need real, comprehensive criminal justice reform now. We must: End, once and for all, the destructive “war on drugs,” including legalizing marijuana. Eliminate private prisons and detention centers. End cash bail. Abolish the death penalty. End all mandatory minimums and reinstate the federal system of parole. Seriously reform civil asset forfeitures. Bring about major police department reform. Prevent employers from discriminating against applicants based on criminal history by “banning the box.” https://berniesanders.com/issues/criminal-justice-reform/
