A "Quick" lesson on why not to trust twitter

Recommended Posts

Everybody wants to be ''first''.

Give me news once it's ''real''  news. Not this ''my sources'' crap.

She then tweeted right after this that it's not confirmed. Talk about hedging your bets

Early on, Twitter was awesome for getting news out quick but it's morphed into a disaster. Idiots like this making tweets just to get retweeted and then following up with the fact that it's unconfirmed. Rando message board posters get banned for stuff like that. Twitter needs to boot people that do that poo.

I googled her and she was the first person to report that Bruce Arians was going to be the next coach in Tampa Bay. Sounds legit.

who the hell is this woman?

Someone who claims to be a Panthers and Hornets best reporter with less than 1500 followers on Twitter. A.K.A. nobody.

She's almost certainly just throwing this out there on the off chance she gets it right.

Both Joe Person and Bill Voth have emphatically denied this just now.

Then that's terrible reporting.

Pretty much the norm for 2019.  Twitter has absolutely ruined real, actual investigative news.

Yep. The "real" outlets have had to get a lot more lax with their reporting in an effort to compete and that's how we get widespread "legit" reporting that Antonio Brown has been traded to the Buffalo Bills.

I respect those who seek to get into journalism.

Learn how to do it, first.
