Jermon Bushrod visiting the Panthers

Recommended Posts

The Panthers aren’t content with their offensive line, after signing two starters this week.

According to Field Yates of ESPN, the Panthers had veteran lineman Jermon Bushrod in for a visit.

Bushrod started six games for the Saints last year, and the 34-year-old has 125 career starts with the Saints, Bears, and Dolphins.

While he’s older than they might prefer, he does has some flexibility (he can play tackle or guard), and the Panthers can stil use help.

After signing right tackle Daryl Williams and center Matt Paradis this week, the Panthers released left tackle Matt Kalil, and are looking to add to their options up front.

Hey, I'm not going to complain one bit about building that OL through FA and focusing on the D in the draft. That's playing to the strengths of this draft class.

Maybe there actually is something to this Hurney 2.0...

Left without a contract likely means "wasn't ready to accept veteran minimum". That's gotta be about all that he's worth at this point.

Hurney 2.0 is not handing out much to that guy. Over the hill, overweight, and never that good. Take a take a cheap contract or hit the bricks. Good job Hurney, now stay off the phone with your ex-wife and we'll keep the ball rolling.

Another possibility would be that we're bringing in other o-lineman over the weekend and we'd get back to him about a deal.

Visit probably meant to pressure Clark into resigning quickly/cheaply.

we may just re-sign Marshall Newhouse who we traded for in October. Chris Clark is done.
