curious if @Harpootlian4SC or other lawmakers skeptical of the projected benefit have mentioned the jock tax (https://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/business/article227793404.html )- salaries of highly paid employees who travel (players) are taxed in states where games are played (1/2 games are at home, aka in NC. None in SC)

NEW: In a strange twist to the @panthers tax break saga, Dem Sen. @Harpootlian4SC hired an economist who evaluated the deal and believes the Commerce Department's economic impact numbers are exaggerated. Harpootlian says he'll continue to block the bill https://www.thestate.com/news/politics-government/article229073114.html

A delegation of Panthers, including head coach Ron Rivera and VP of development Mark Hart, some players (and I guess Sir Purr) are at the S.C. capitol today to get introduced in the House and Senate as well as meet with SC governor McMaster.

Just read that article.  The Commerce Dept report factored in ALL employees moving to SC, which I think it nuts.  Sounds like they got a little over zealous with the numbers.  Still though, 1.1 billion is a pretty big impact to the State.

I believe the economic impact was grossly overstated.

That is nothing unusual in this day and age of economic buffalo hunting. Kudos to the SC state senator who hired an independent economist to check all the figures. Research should always beat salesmanship.

Saw the Cat Cruiser heading south on 77 this morning!  Wonder if RR was riding shotgun?

This guy's a freshman from Columbia. I think he's just being an ass about it to make a name for himself.
