targeted weight gain over the next 2-3 seasons...

That is not a goal of mine, but thinking it will probably happen anyway.

I don’t think Burns need to add on 20 pounds. I think his weight need to be at least around 255 maybe 260 at the heaviest. If anything he just needs to get a little bit more stronger and add a bull rush to his game.

He might not still be changing direction on a dime carrying another 20 pounds. This honestly makes me nervous. I don't see why we need him at 270 to play 3-4 OLB and Hurney's track record with undersized 4-3 DEs is littered with failure.

As long as he isn't sacrificing too much speed, I don't see a problem with what he is saying. He WILL have to get stronger at this level. He won't be able to be a pure speed rusher and become as successful as he needs to be as a first round pick.

So many experts also thought that CMC was too small to run inside and would never be sturdy enough to be a full-time RB. Apparently, our trainers and nutritionists for the team have seriously upgraded their own games.

I'm just gonna sit back and let them be them. Seems to be working.

It's also worth pointing out that you don't necessarily have to gain significant weight to add significant strength.

Beat me to it. He doesn't necessarily need to gain weight - just get stronger.

Yep, I bet CMC is a lot stronger now than he was at the Combine but I doubt hes added significant weight.

When you have less than 10% body fat, 5 pounds of muscle is a friggin lot and very hard to do.

FWIW

Josh Allen came into Kentucky  at 210

Burns came into FSU at 210

Both played their first 2 seasons at 210-230

Allen bulked up to about 250 his junior and 260 his senior year

Burns stayed at around 235, both have similar frames.  Allen packed on about 25 pounds between his sophomore and junior years.  Burns can EASILY put that on, especially under a NFL staff.  And now getting paid to where he can work on his diet easier.

Do we even have to wait for the season? If he doesn't sack Trubinsky at least twice, he's dead to me!
