I’ll say it again, I give none shits whether or not the play-by-play guy is/isn’t a dickhead. His job is not to be team ambassador, or public relations monkey. His job is to call games with urgency and clarity, mindful that any given play could be immortalized. Radio calls serve as a vital audio element for NFL Films’ permanent library of football history. For 14 years now, Carolina has projected one of the least captivating, most flavorless broadcast teams in the league; there’s absolutely no excuse for it. It’s simply an unimpressive chronicle—so much so, that often times NFL Films (and the team itself) will opt to repurpose Fox/CBS/NBC/ESPN calls in place of Mixon for in-season production pieces. Roz is one of the best in his field, and I would love to hear those pipes verbalizing pivitoal moments yet to come.

We should just bring in some of the announcers from professional soccer and let them broadcast for us. They're just about the only people who would get more excited than Cam about anything. No that isn't a shot at Cam, he just brings a lot of love of the game to the field.

I say turn it over to the Spanish broadcast team.  They are much more entertaining and even though I can't understand a word they are saying I can at least know I'm listening to a football game.  With Mick I feel like I'm listening to color commentary on a gay porn flick.  The guy is cringe worthy to listen to.

Mick is such a nice guy in person, he really is.  Talked to him at length on more than one occasion.

Now, his “style” is atrocious.  Easily the worst in the league.  If there is a worse play by play guy in any other market God have mercy on them.

He acts like the team bangs his wife on the weekends and he has to be excited about it.

I think Mick is hilarious.  I remember once he said something about DeAngelo’s chocolate, waterfall dreads cascading down his back

I'm surprised Mixon still has a job. Tepper acts like he can't stand him. Along with the rest of us

The dude shows zero emotion.  He acts the same whether the Panthers or the opponent scores.

Hiring Rosinski would be a definite/huge upgrade, but I could see where some within the organization might still oppose the move.

Regardless of how how personable Mick Mixon might be, he has virtually no radio presence/personality.  He is the milk toast of sports broadcasting. Horrible doesn't begin to describe his lack of talent.

Replacing Mick Mixon should be a no-brainer.

    • Another thing was he was getting talked to by mike adams and captain munnerlyn who were equally if not more to blame for the disastrous secondary that we had. Maybe if he didnt have scrubs trying to talk to him he would have reacted a bit differently.
    • While I appreciate that we might not have seen everything, in speaking only of the portrayal, most of the "negative" from Donte came prior to the Pittsburgh game . . . not while we were on that losing streak.  He had coaches and players all talking to him about mistakes he kept making . . . while we were winning. Perhaps the season changed him.  Time will tell.  Time also has a chance to change him.  It did with Cam, it can with Donte.  I don't expect him to be the "finished product" at this point of his career, nor should he expect it of himself.  He should however listen when coaches and veterans try to help him. Maybe JNo could give him a call.
