You're mistaken. The ACA was the result of Obama trying to reach across the isle & was an expanded version of Romney's plan in Massachusetts.

he didnt reach across the isle, in fact the senate used the nuclear option to get it passed, in fact they didnt even know what was in the bill they voted for ,,,, stupid

The ACA was based on a republican healthcare plan is the key part you seem to have missed.

And yes, there are plenty of areas where cost savings can be found but (as you will find out if you watch the video I just posted) the low hanging fruit is administrative costs.

oh I agree that admin cost are unreal... I also think there should be only one kind of policy, not 42 different kinds... if its medically necessary, then its covered.... you want a nose job, bigger boobs, facelift etc then pay for that yourself whatever the cost...

but take 30% of admin cost off that 100k operation that leaves 70k operation... still way too high also no drs should get kickbacks from pharma for prescribing their medication they also shouldn't be allowed to buy drugs and resale it to you like chemo for treatments...

Yeah, that's why I said "trying". Republicans hate they're own policies when a Democrat suggests them.

He did.

And yes the ACA was for the most part the Republican plan that countered Hillary and her groups plans in the 90s.  But when Obama put it out there thinking the Republicans would at least not get all upset about it BECAUSE IT WAS THEIR PLAN they just ramped up the SOCIALIST and ONE TERM PRESIDENT!!!! bullshit. Grow up.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2017/08/01/set-health-record-straight-republicans-helped-craft-obamacare-ross-baker-column/523952001/

Not only were Republican senators deeply involved in the process up until its conclusion, but it's a cinch that the ACA might have become law months earlier if the Democrats, hoping for a bipartisan bill, hadn't spent enormous time and effort wooing GOP senators — only to find themselves gulled by false promises of cooperation. And unlike Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's semi-secret proceedings that involved only a handful of trusted colleagues, Obamacare, until the very end of the process, was open to public scrutiny.

More: Memo to Democrats after special-election losses: Find better candidates

More: Spare America a do-over on health care. Seize the bipartisan moment.

Let's set the record straight. The Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (known as the HELP Committee), chaired first by Edward Kennedy and later by Christopher Dodd, held 14 bipartisan round-table meetings and 13 public hearings. Democrats on that committee accepted 160 Republican amendments to the bill. The Senate Finance Committee, chaired by Montana Democrat Max Baucus, was writing its own version of the ACA. It held 17 bipartisan round-table sessions, summit meetings and hearings with Republican senators.

On the House side, the Republican leadership made it clear to members that they were not to cooperate in any way with the effort to create the health insurance program proposed by President Obama. McConnell, then the Senate minority leader, was equally disapproving of cooperation. Despite that, a few Republican senators, such as Finance Committee members Charles Grassley of Iowa and Mike Enzi of Wyoming, were in discussions with the Democrats until McConnell warned both men that their future in the party would be in jeopardy if they supported the bill.

By the summer recess in August 2009, Republicans like Grassley were back in their states and hearing from the Tea Party movement that cooperating with Democrats on health care reform was akin to trading with the enemy. Nonetheless, a few Republicans such as Maine senator Olympia Snowe continued to work with Finance Committee Democrats. Remarkably, the bill before the committee was based on a plan devised by the Republicans more than a decade before — including now familiar elements of Obamacare such as the individual mandate requiring people to buy insurance, and state exchanges or marketplaces with plans offered by private insurers.

Congressman Chip Roy Has a Meltdown Defending Drug Company Profits

During the two-minute outburst, Roy lambasts his fellow lawmakers for questioning Big Pharma's profit taking, claiming that their queries are an all-out assault on the free market itself.

"I'm really glad they [make big profits]! And I hope they make a lot more!" Roy chided his colleagues before pounding the desk for emphasis.

this is people's problem.. rocknrolla is a perfect example …. people take one example of something or one person and tries it to make it look like they represent the whole thing or group or whatever they are talking about....  in this case, Chip Roy. Chip represents how the whole GOP thinks... I dont think so

that being said the GOP does want corps, businesses and people to make profits even big pharma, but I think you will find the GOP wants them to be FAIR profits

is AOC a representation of the whole democratic party ?

this is just a lie, reality is gop politicians continuously vote against ANY measures that would cut into big pharma profits and push down costs, even against the wishes of their own voters

but hey feel free to posts all these bills written and supported by the gop that would cut into healthcare costs, nobody is stopping you
