Are you feeling the Hurn yet?

He still looks like a used car salesman, but Hurney 2.0 does seem to be a legit upgrade.

I was one of the loudest drum beaters against bringing Hurney back 2 years ago.

Since he's been back, he's been making very solid moves. Makes me believe that Hurney was always capable of being competent but JR was the one truly holding us back from success. Glad he's gone and we now have Tepper.

So JR was pulling the strings with Hurney at the helm, but Tep isn't? I just think Hurney does what the owner wants. Tepper is guiding this ship.

Hurney 2.0 has turned me into a believer.  Now let's see if Rivera can follow through and earn his keep.

If Tepper is meddling, he's more competent at meddling.

Exactly. There's no coincidence our current staff made drastic changes after their meeting with Tep.

It’s hard to believe that JR was ok with the ridiculous crap Hurney pulled off during his first stint. If JR was truly the one calling the shots then he should’ve never been the owner of an NFL team

Yep. Many were calling for JR to step down a decade ago.

Or maybe, like most humans..he has just learned from his mistakes.

I don't think we need to necessarily look for a non-Hurn reason as to why he was bad before, and good now.  Wouldn't be the first time someone sucked at a job, but then got better.

Not trying to be a wet blanket here, and I'm enjoying the moves Hurney has made so far. But, it was the long-term effects that really did him in last time, such as the huge RB contracts for Double Trouble, re-signing Jake to an overpaid contract, trading away picks to move up way too much and for too little, etc. Now, if that that was more of JR meddling, and less Hurney doing what was best for the team, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. However, if Hurney sticks around at least a few more years, then we'll truly see where he stands after getting a second chance with this team.

Not going to lie, I still have worries about the draft trades in the future, and that the potential cap hell we suffered through may repeat themselves. I'm also hoping these are unfounded fears, and he's not going to do that whole song and dance again down the road. Guess we'll see eventually.

JR was, I believed at the time, the guy who was behind the handling of Peppers when his deal was coming up. Tagged him, and them tagged him a second time. Then he left and we got nothing I'll say for him (don't remember details re compensation picks at the time). They went to such extremes not letting him, it screwed the cap.

Extending Jake, pushed a lot down the road. Bottom line, that was done in an environment of having no money. That is how I remember things, it wasn't done in a vacuum.

We always get these theories about JR meddling. I honestly wish someone inside the organization would let out what the real story was. I am always a little skeptical of the extreme micromanaging narratives. For me personally, it's just easier to believe that Hurney and Gettleman were average GM's at best.
