Will CMC become new face of Panthers

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this was already posted, didn’t see it anywhere.

GMF was talking about the upcoming story on Amazon about our 2018 season and Burleson stated that he thinks CMC will soon become the face of the Panthers, thinks he will have a “breakout “ 2019 season.

I think Cam keeps the title until he stops playing or plays somewhere else.

If your RB is the face of your franchise in the modern NFL, you probably aren't winning much. Harsh truth.

If 2018 wasn't a breakout season for CMC I don't know what is.

Cam is the face until he stops playing. League MVP and most valued position. RBs can rarely, if ever, be the face of a winning franchise in this NFL.

Was thinking the exact same thing.

That's like when Steve Smith was the face of the franchise. No thanks! Loved some Smitty but those were sad days with no QB.

I mean, Gurley is the face of the Rams IMO, and they were in the SB last season.

That said, no.  Cam and Luke are the faces, and will be for some time.

How many yards did Gurley have in the Super Bowl?

Can you answer what that statement and the statement I quoted have to do with each other?

You quoted me and brought up Gurley. The offensive juggernaut that was the 2019 Rams were almost shut out in the lowest scoring Super Bowl in history. My initial statement which you quoted holds up.

Ask our team if they give a poo about merely appearing in the Super Bowl only to watch it slip away despite still being in it down to the last few minutes of the game.

There isn't a team in the league that can win a title with only an RB as the face of their team. Just ask Sean McVay and Jared Goff.

Both the Broncos and Patriots beat the Rams and the Panthers with stout pass rush.

No, a RB won’t ever become the face of a franchise that has a franchise QB, only if it’s a revolving door at QB like the Vikings with Peterson. Also Luke is here...

Sure maybe when Cam retires. Even then it would probably be Luke first if he outlasts Cam, though an offensive player would probably have an advantage so it could be CMC

    • It's true... if you go back and watch, he holds the ball for close to 6 seconds... But at the same time, we had just went 3-and-out twice, and Cam didn't want to end the preseason without putting at least 1 drive together...  This is his ninth year, and you want him to be smarter than that given the fact it's preseason, but when you've got people swarming around you and you're trying to make a play to give your team a spark, it is understandable. I'm just hoping he's going to be ready for Week 1, and the Offensive Line can come together... The truth is, there is more overall talent on this line than in most years... they've got to play like it for this team to be good
    • It should read Tepper: AIn't nobody got time for that because I have more important things to do than deal with than this nonsense.
