Reids dirty hit on Watson

Recommended Posts

Don't care...fine him, don't fine him...I like a safety that will lay the wood.  Just have to be careful not to draw flags and hit late.  I wouldn't call it a dirty play, it was just a late hit, poo happens sometimes  Nothing has been said that he is a dirty player, never heard anything from players in the league that he is dirty.  So let's reduce the hyperbole.

he hates Watson because of the Players Coalition....was looking to take a shot at him

and he did take a shot...a cheap shot that cost our team 15 yds...his personal agenda again

LOL. Unsurprisingly stupid take from bull123. Welp, this thread is complete.

Then why did he go back and kneel beside him to see if he was ok?

The guy is well liked and respected in the locker room and has taken it upon himself to become the vocal leader of the secondary. That’s all that should matter.

The political talk is so old,...

anyway,.. I would rather have a guy that overplays and plays to win than a guy that is completely soft.

We all miss Steve Smith and Josh Norman as attitudes on the team,..

Eric Reid is a true American patriot and hero.

If that makes you feel some type of way, then that is on you, not him.

It’s OK to say he plays good football and is all over the field, and it’s also OK to say that was a dirty, stupid play. Both can be true. And Reid’s case, it is. It was a bonehead play and it cost the team 15 yards.

Let's be 100% honest here.

In all likelihood, Eric wanted to get his hands on Watson because of the Twitter stuff.  Could have done a better job at that, obviously.

On the flip side, the only reason this is even a fugging thread is because of his views.  If it was Colin Jones, you would "love his intensity."

It's time to get over it.

What you meant to say, "...is because he's not white, let me use a white guy to prove my point." Colin Jones never gets close enough to have a borderline type enforcer hit so it's a bad example. No one here has ever said that they "loved Jones intensity".

As far as i'm aware, most fans here will call it like they see it. The hit was dirty, the radio call guys saw it, the TV call guys saw it, and most of the Huddle saw it. Irrespective of whatever views Reid holds, it isn't a hit you want to see from your guys. Can't complain when a Falcon goes for Cam hard and then say Eric did a good job here.

it wasn't late, Reid is so good he was already on the next play. it was an early hit because Watson would have scored a TD. it's called field vision.

He's a hitter but those plays can be avoided by just tapping/touching  the player to make sure he's down

It's a new age NFL they won't tolerate late hits or anything viewed as dirty

It was a hit launched before the guy hit the ground and nothing outside of the bounds of strong safety play in a regular game. His timing was off just a beat and that drew the flag, and rightfully so. Half a second the other way and it is a legal and expected hit.

Adding in all these other factors is the same as believing the Hulk Hogan/Macho Man feud promos. Quit marking out and let's watch football, not political plate spinning.

*** you Reid haters, he was all over the field and always by the ball. He's the best piece of secondary we got.

He sucks ass and his penalties don't make up for his play.

For sure, but when you start going into his character and saying he only cares about himself then that poster is crossing a line and pushing an agenda. They are the first ones who scream no politics in sports but then make it political by pushing said agenda.

and that should be called out every single time.

You can't have that type of safety in this NFL because broke players cried foul. Reid is a dying breed.
