Mr. Scot

If we learned that Newton is indeed "sick of football"...

He'd be out the door before we ever heard him say that.  That said, I'd say I couldn't blame him.  Dude's rich, he has no reason to continue getting the poo kicked out of him.

I would say I'm just about there with him.

I almost spit out water on my laptop when I read that. But where are people getting that he is sick of football or retirement rumors?

But are you sick of football in general or just sick of the way the Panthers have been run?

In general, but more specifically the Panthers.  Pro football is just not that much fun to watch anymore.

It's been theorized, mostly based on his expressions and body language.

At this point it's purely hypothetical though, so the question is more of a "what if".

I'd say the person who told me Cam probably won't play this week and might not play the rest of the year, and they'll blame it on the foot...

...has an incredibly good source.

Same here.

The fun has been sucked out of it. Mismanagement of the team has played a huge role in that happening. The league showing partiality towards certain players and teams and refs showing blatant biases in their calling of games has been the biggest issue, but the way this team has been run is killing the last little bit of it.

At this point if he's hurt and can't play I can't say I'd blame him. Finish out the year with the team, supporting it in any way he can and retire at the end like a pro.
