It is really goddamn funny that cops keep writing “oink little piggy!!” on their own coffee cups

to answer the false choice posed earlier itt, “should the police just stand there and die?”:

i would trade the life of every single cop present on the scene for richard cutshaw’s life. cops like to pretend as if their work is about sacrifice. that’s the whole (theoretical) point of the thin blue line trash. but absolutely none of them have any interest in dying so that someone else may live. they are willing to sacrifice nothing.

also there is 0 empathy in policing and for that reason they are owed none. they’re some of the most selfish people on earth.

cops effortlessly shrug off the cold blooded murder of a 12 year old tamir rice but are shaken to their core by grainy 20 year old footage of that dinkheller idiot’s screeching and gurgling. view them through this lens and none of their actions come as a surprise.

I mean...  this is true.  The entire belief that LEOs are worthy of respect and honor is based on the fact that they protect us.  It's clear in situations like this that they really only protect themselves.

It's also clear that covering up misconduct is more important than actually doing their job.

cops expect to be treated as selfless heroes despite being literally the exact opposite lol. they are foot soldiers for capital and the response from UPS, not naming the worker killed but thanking the police for killing him, proves it. i agree that cops want that adrenaline rush, they want that power trip, and they know that they won’t face real consequences for their actions but we have to talk about why that is. those cops sure weren’t protecting the public, and i would say they weren’t directly protecting the jewelry store or ups. that shits insured and they bloodied it all up anyway. they were protecting the institution. swift and severe consequences for threatening capital. 80+ cars in pursuit and estimates of over 200 shots fired despite the hostage and innocent bystanders. capital above all. irredeemable sellouts.

Policing in America needs a complete revision.  We should fire every fuging one of you and start over.

Every ONE.

this is the only way forward. no more funds for “training.” no more “sensitivity” and “implicit bias” training. calls for reform completely miss the core function of policing in america (intentional or not). we have to start over and it has to be accompanied by a complete restructuring of society.

cops will look you dead in the eyes and tell you that eric garner wasn’t choked to death. they’ll tell you freddie gray broke his own neck. no amount of training will fix that. your employer will thank them when they do it to you. this is the dystopia.

ray tensing lynched a black man while wearing a t shirt with the confederate flag on it under his uniform, lied on the report, got caught in the lie, was never convicted of a crime and a jury awarded him $350,000 for “unfair dismissal”

the filth that murdered terrence crutcher not only walked free, she was given a job training other cops how to get away with murder

Quote

Betty Shelby — now a deputy with the nearby Rogers County Sheriff’s Department — taught a course at the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday called “Surviving the Aftermath of a Critical Incident.” According to a state website, the course exposes officers to “many of the legal, financial, physical, and emotional challenges which may result from” situations like police shootings. The four-hour class, which is free for officers to attend, has been certified by Oklahoma’s Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training and counts toward two hours of mental health training for police officers.

this is your liberal reform at work. “cops need mental health training!!” this was classified as mental health training

Re: the highway incident.  Once cornered, what do you think the response should’ve been.

Who shot first.

and if the perps shot first are you suggesting the cops just lie back and wait until they are done shooting before doing anything?

Love to hear thoughts on what the ROE here is except from the resident cop hater.
