Mr. Scot

Olsen to be released today?

They said on the radio earlier that he'd become a free agent today

He was already tweeting Wilson to get him to Seattle also.

Am I the only one wondering why the Panthers aren't trying to trade him?

Dead cap??

3million

We should have 48 miliion in cap space once we get rid of Mike Davis, D. Poe, Olsen and Kuechly.

We might have more if they are waiting until June 1st to make Luke's retirement official, they also have the option, however highly unlikely of going after Kuechly for some of his initial signing bonus and that would give us more cap space.

Can't trade yet. Plus, who's gonna trade for a guy you've already said you're gonna release?

A team that wouldn't want to have to deal with competition from any other teams that would be interested. At his salary / age, I wouldn't ever expect it, but just because a player could be released, doesn't mean teams wouldn't still make that trade.

He wouldn't report unless it's a team he specifically wanted to go to...and who is going to pay him?

He currently has the 2nd highest cap hit next season for TE's.

Seeing Greg suit up for Seattle would be sickening.  Go someplace like Houston, Baltimore, or maybe even Buffalo and help them out instead

    • Rhule/Snow have been tight lipped on the traits that they are looking for.  What they have said is that they want versatility and play making abilities.  For the DL that would seem to mean being able to play a 3-5 or even 7 plus getting  into the backfield.  When it comes down to these two, I don’t think they will look at who is the finished product now, but who has the highest ceiling with their coaching/scheme.  It might very well be Kinlaw rated higher.  If he is our pick at 7, get the hampsters ready ‘cause this site’s goin’  down.
    • Doesn’t seem like he’ll be taking Luke’s number... https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/03/30/tahir-whitehead-not-really-too-hung-up-on-wearing-no-59-with-panthers/   ““I know Luke wore it and everything. Obviously, he’s a good guy all around. It would be different for everybody to see me in it. . . . I’m not really too hung up on the number,” Whitehead said, via Joseph Person of TheAthletic.com.”   59 should be retired
    • Not at this point. Definitely not ideal by any means, but I just got out of law school in 2018, so I am in the infancy of my career and the burden of massive debt has not really set in for me other than just having to make payments. I'll probably feel it more when I start looking to buy a home and stuff like that. At the same time though I am a pretty optimistic person (probably to a fault) and have some pretty high aspirations, so I hope to knock it out pretty quick (relatively speaking). Good thing is if I stay in the public sector for 10 years I can get loan forgiveness.
