Sal Paolantonio “The Panthers are going to win a Super Bowl with Matt Rhule"

Recommended Posts

ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio came on WFNZ Sports Radio in Charlotte on Thursday to explain why he thinks the Panthers’ new head coach will be an immediate success in the NFL. Paolantonio has lived in Philadelphia and covered the Eagles for several years so he has an accurate grasp on exactly who Matt Rhule is and what he stands for from his time at Temple.

“Matt is going to be a super success in the NFL,” he told WFNZ. “I’m not saying he’s going to be a super success in two or three years. Matt Rhule is going to be a success in the NFL right away. He’s going to be a great head coach in the NFL for a very long time.

Lots of puff but if he’s accurate... I can’t wait to own the Lombardi,  even if only for a year.

I certainly hope he's right. I think it's gonna be ugly in the short-term, but hopefully it'll be a success in the long-term.

Would it be great to have just hired a Belichick for the start of a dynasty? Yes. But I guess we’re stuck waiting to find out for now.

    • Even so, the nearly $50 million we have in dead cap space this year goes to $0 next year.   Our cap rollover will be negligible anyhow.  That would suck for teams that were planning on rolling over a ton of cap space.
    • The top expert in South Korea says the same thing, significant reduction in transmission. I'd listen to them before anyone else. But I don't think there's any number of studies, facts or evidence that will matter to some of these people. They've made up their minds that "masks bad" and there's no convincing them otherwise.
    • You need to show consistency, otherwise there will be questions as to why you don't like Cam Newton as much as you like Matt Ryan. If that's the road you're wanting to edge towards, then just jump in instead of being coy. Otherwise, a rational discussion can take place. If you're inconsistent in your evaluation of players, then your opinion is about as helpful as an ingrown scrotum hair. No, thought police don't exist. I just make irrational people anxious because they realize they sound like ass clowns when having to explain/defend their position. It usually results in them being dismissive, gaslighting, then ultimately shutting the fug up and going away.  Yes, I do this with everyone that has a bad opinion if I have the time. Getting somebody to commit to their bad takes and then watching them devolve under pressure is what I imagine a tantric orgasm must feel like. Especially when they start getting belligerent; that's the cherry on top that you like to pick.
