Rich but bounces a check. Rich but bankrupt exiting the NFL. Rich but spends money on court, babies, dumb poo.

Yea brains win in this case and rich is subjective. I’ll take brains and being well off over being filthy rich and utterly stupid.

And I have every right to comment on other life’s choices. That’s be part of the problem. No one ever wants to gets real with players/people which does nothing to help them get out of their own way.

But people speak on how “stupid” athletes are all the time. People are “real” with them all the time as well; probably moreso than normal joes like you and I.

Being real would be you admitting that you and others have some resentment and jealousy towards those who have more, thus making these comments y’all make about them more understandable.

I’d suspect no one they’re close to or care about is real with them. But if people are real with them and they still make the decisions doesn’t that just qualify their decisions as stupid and validate what I just said? Do you have something to suggest otherwise?

I have more than an average Joe, I have plenty, including brains to appreciate it and not throw it away. I’m not jealous or resentful of anyone quite the opposite I’m grateful, in the sense I know how to work hard and smart enough not to make stupid decisions.

I’m also smart enough to know I’m  lucky in some ways, as are a lot of people who are well off.  Some people deserve to be well off but aren’t. I realize this. And that only makes these decisions look more stupid to me. My comments don’t come from resentment or envy, they come from pity.

onmyown you ever think captain may have some brain damage?  i think we need to consider its quite possible.  his actions and decisions may be being made by a damaged brain from playing ball.

I still "Float Checks". You have $12 in your account, you need gas, pay Credit at gas pump, they charge you $1, then buy food. The rest of the gas amount will not hit until 3 days later. I used to do this plenty of times to get me by.

You can take a horse to water....

What's sad, and this isn't about the 5th rounder who made it for 3 years...this is about the guys with multiple contracts, at multiple millions on each one.

The teams offer SO MUCH help/guidance for these guys, and all but a handful tell them to shove their advice.

Hate it for them.

Had a hard enough time covering WR's and you're surprised he can't cover his checkbook?

According to Ricky Patel, Munnerlyn's attorney, Munnerlyn's legal troubles had to do with him being exploited by the people he had been associating with.

"An entourage took advantage of Captain and used his casino markers,” said Patel. “Players need to be careful about who they hang with.

Captain Munnerlyn was cleared of a fugitive warrant after wiring $200,000 to The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas

and I don't gamble so I had to google casino markers.

A casino marker is a line of credit that gaming establishments lend to players to use for gambling at the property. Patrons who fail to repay the marker may face civil action to collect the debt, as well as criminal charges for check fraud or passing bad checks.

who knows, but realistically, Captain's side could be legit and he just had a bunch of mooches taking advantage of him.   Might not be broke.  I mean, if I remember correctly, was Captain Munnerlyn made fun of by being kinda cheap by NFL standards?  Wasn't there some story about him and shoes or something a long time ago?

If he wired 200g I doubt he’s broke, unless he got a loan of ill repute.

Moral of the story never give markers to anyone unless you fully expect to never see that money again.
