Some people just feel the law shouldn't apply to them.

Bottom line, this guy could have easily killed a human being driving like that. How is he any better than a drunk driver?

Because of the bottom line.

So now the police get to decide guilt or innocence? Awesome.

The police weren't doing their jobs. If you are breaking the law you get ticketed and/or arrested. No if's and's or but's.

So the player that was trying to see his dying mom....

So the player that was trying to see his dying mom....

Should have gotten a ticket for running a red light.

He should not have had a gun pulled on him and continued to be detained even after hospital staff verified that his mother in law was dying in a room above.

Depends on what you define as a human being. If I saw somebody murder my beloved pet, "human being" would no longer apply to them in my book.

So now everyone gets to decide what is a crime and what isn't.

So if a strict vegan sees you having a steak, you would no longer qualify as a human being and whatever he/she felt like doing to you would be fine, regardless of what laws he/she breaks.

Excellent way to run a civilization.

Well I'm sorry, but I don't think he should have even been given a ticket.

If you are able to immediately show sympathy to the criminal who vitimizes you and are just as concerned with his rights as yours, perhaps even more so...then more power to you.

Any judge worth his/her salt would have dismissed it.

He ran a red light. He should have gotten a ticket, and that ticket should have been dropped by the court system when the circumstances came clear.

If someone shoots someone, and a cop sees them, the cop should arrest them no matter what. The justice system then decides the level and amount of guilt.

I think these guys are animals and I'm glad the guy chased him down. He still should have been charged as he endangered others.

If rule of law becomes dominated by feelings we're are in trouble as a society.

Well I can't debate that logic...

Did a liberal really just say this? :D

Yes, liberals can have a sense of justice, despite what FoxNews has told you... :D

Cops showed up to a house I was working on and kids were dragging a trampoline and pool out of the back yard. The cops were called because the kids were stealing property. The cops didn't arrest the kids or even tell the parents what happened. How awesome is that? Stealing isn't bad enough to tell the parents about. What message is that sending.

    • i’m rly not impressed by the argument that just bc he has a job means that everybody can just take unlimited shots every time the giants announce a draft pick or trade or free agent signing or <insert personnel transaction here> and don’t pretend that it’s justified just bc it’s a football discussion board bc it p much does nothing but foster a lower level of dialogue, and all you see is the same banal comments about “gettleman’s ego” and cheapness, and comeuppance. i thought of it as an inkling but now i’m rly starting to see the clarity that it very likely is just a matter of a bunch of insecure posters periodically affirming that it was a good idea that we went back to the guy whose mess gettleman spent years cleaning up. don’t want any thought dispute going on up there in the old brain case i guess.
    • Far left policy and far right policy is equally damaging. Take abortion for example. One side wants to kill babies up till birth while the other wants to put mothers who are raped in jail. Balance is key and negotiations between usually result in good things.
    • Slightly off topic but think this will be a conversation at a later date on the Huddle. Charlotte Pipe and Foundry seems to be leaving the area and good chance Tepper scoops up this desired land possibly for a new stadium or other endeavors (MLS?). Got a feeling he has helped make this move happen.  https://www.wsoctv.com/news/local/charlotte-pipe-is-leaving-its-longtime-home-near-uptown/951107816 Charlotte Pipe & Foundry is close to a $325 million deal to move its metal pipe manufacturing operation near uptown Charlotte to an undeveloped site in the Oakboro area of Stanly County, sources have told the Charlotte Business Journal. An announcement on an estimated $125 million in incentives that were signed into law Thursday could be made as soon as this week, according to one source.
