DRAFT SPECULATION/NEWS THREAD

Recommended Posts

Dammit I still want Marcus Smart. Dude is gonna be a steal if he drops out of the top 5, I just dont see any way he falls all the way to 9

On a side note, why is everyone so high on Exum? I've only seen him on youtube vids (and hadnt even watched many of those before today), but man that guy looks raw. His competition in Australia is straight up awful, it looks like hes been playing high school JV teams for the last year

A fan of Smart too. But, looked bad during Lakers workout (previous page: workout with Lavine and Vonleh). Not going to take that into consideration tho, but was pretty bad.

I dont really care about what a guy like Smart looks like in his workout.  We've seen plenty of him in game situations to know what he will do on the court, and I just love his competitiveness on the court and all around game.  He's got the size to play some minutes at the 2 and would immediately solve a lot of the team's issues by providing a ball-handler and guy who can create for himself and others.

I wouldnt mind trading 9 + 24 + a future 1st to trade up and get him

If we could, do it.

We may not have to. He may be the one who falls.

    • Accountability is a big deal when it comes to improving a team and getting past the rough spots. When there is none, teams go soft. And here we are. Had we just decided to keep TD for one more season, I wonder if things would have been much different?

    • I was thinking today how TD, Mike Adams, and Munnerlyn were shown the door. They and Rivera are the ones we saw go after Donte Jackson on All or Nothing. I think part of the problem we've had this year is a lack of leadership in the locker room. On defense, the only vocal leader I see is Gerald McCoy and it's not easy to step into that role your first year. On offense, I think it's Cam (to an extent) and Olsen, but only Olsen has been there this year but it feels about 80% likely that he won't be back next year one way or another.  Going young at a lot of spots is good, but it can hurt if you go too young too soon and you make your leadership disappear. By the way, I have a feeling people might mention Kuechly or Reid as leaders. They're definitely leaders on the field as they're often getting guys into the right spots, but I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about a guy not afraid to call a players-only meeting or to huddle your unit up on the sidelines or to call a guy out in a position meeting. That stuff is needed too and I don't see many guys with that capability.
