Stop scapegoating passing game's failures on the receivers
frankw replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
Things could be better at WR. It could also be a hell of a lot worse. There is young talent here. I think guys are beginning to lose confidence in what they are doing. Even if they might genuinely like Bryce Young as a person and a teammate it has to wear on them on the field they are all human. If you put someone in there that can keep defenses honest with their arm and unlock the whole field and get these guys some throws that can give them a morale boost I think we would see better results over time. But we unequivocally need that in order to properly evaluate. -
I had to hear this bad news. Let's hope it is not as bad as it seems.

Many of us where dying to turn any panther GM into a memelord.... I still remember seeing "In Dave we trust"(ugh....I may have post a couple). I still hate herniay and we loved Daves early work....I mean Hog mollies is still a great comment and he under great scrutiny used his first two draft picks on DTs(he only had 5 picks.....thanks hernaiy.......) Scott did GREAT on trades, just was beyond awful at using them to find decent-good-great-elite players in the draft. *But I have called the 2021 class one of the better classes, just the other two where soooo bad. Now if Morgan/Brandt have another 2025 draft class result in 2026, I will go into meme-mode...

Stop scapegoating passing game's failures on the receivers
Waldo replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bryce's limitations are not a blanket excuse for anyone else. Some can't be proved until post Bryce times but there is substantial evidence that some WRs deserve reasonable criticism. The oline is hurt and overpaid at this point. Tet is the only WR that is completely blameless. DC is backed into a corner but still not blameless with his inability to adjust to the opponent or prepare the team. Also this guy is such a goober. Everything ESPN is garbage. -
I definitely would have to say if any game fell under the category of must win it would have been against the at the time 1 win Saints who have been a complete mess at QB. This game in Atlanta could get ugly quick.

AI Overview Negative perceptions of NFL quarterback Kyler Murray focus on his perceived lack of accountability, leadership, and consistency, as well as concerns about his physical durability and struggles with downfield passing. Critics point to his lucrative contract and the team's struggles, arguing that he needs to be more accountable, while some also criticize his decision-making and inability to consistently elevate the team. Player performance and consistency Downfield passing: Some analysts argue Murray struggles to consistently push the ball downfield and that his throws can be inaccurate or floaty. Mediocrity: Certain critiques suggest his play is mediocre, with a failure to turn games around, even with good protection and receivers. Inconsistency: He is often criticized for a lack of consistency and the inability to stay healthy over a full season. Leadership and attitude Lack of accountability: Media members have called for him to take more responsibility for the team's performance. Perceived immaturity: Some have questioned his leadership, with a belief that he is self-centered and immature, though others disagree. "Duck, duck, goose" play: One specific criticism is that he holds the ball too long and scrambles unnecessarily, delaying plays and confusing receivers. Contract and injury concerns Lucrative contract: His large contract is often cited by critics, who argue that his performance does not justify the investment. Injury proneness: There are concerns about his durability due to his style of play and previous injuries, which impacts his long-term reliability.

If we are going to take a swing on an overpriced QB that hasn't worked out I'd much rather go with Trevor Lawrence. Kyler feels like a Jet tbh

He plays the same as he did in HS. Soon as he thinks pressure is getting near, uses his wheels to out run DLmen while his WRs are rolling their eyes. This works super in HS and even 90% of the time in college.......pros, you need Vicks 4.2 along with his insane balance to treat every little pressure as a panic mode headless chicken. Id only welcome his if cards pay nearly all his salary or cough up a 1st or 2nd to take this bust of a contract.

this would be a horrible mistake but sounds like a panther type move

QB Trey Lance still runs fast, showcasing significant speed in games. While he was clocked at an elite 21.54 mph in college, suggesting high top-end speed, his college tape also indicated a tendency to seek contact and not slide, which were red flags to some evaluators, according to Reddit users. His running ability in the NFL has been highlighted in plays where he gains significant yardage and scores touchdowns, even when escaping pressure.

Come on, why don't we go get another short ass QB? At least this one is an elite athlete with an actual cannon of an arm. Still, hell no to it. We need a big guy back there.
-
We wouldn’t be worse off if he was our starter this year I’d bet on it

If his awful perfomance as a passer with 40 games under his belt isn't enough to bench him that turtleneck should be. Man really showed up to a children's charity like:

Brother he lost to 3 QBs ranked in everyone's top 12. The current times around here, I feel most of us would welcome a QB around the 16th ranked. Lance could be that among many others. He's still very young and should had enough reps to determine if he can be one of the 32 starters each week. I still stand by my draft 1-2(prefer using one of the 2nd or 3rd rounders). Vet and another failed 1st/_____ ala Wilson lance Pickett etc. I thought the staff wanted Drew Lock, but BY finished well enough and they decided to re-sign his BFF Dalton. That's who I will toss out there- Dan will trade for Drew Lock or Milroe. I had heard this staff was planning on signing Lock before BY miracle 9 games finish.... So draft 3rd rounder and 6th rounder. Trade a 2028 6th for Drew Lock and 2028 7th. Sign Trey Lance to some 2 year deal. May the best man win....

Hard pass

I do not agree with you saying QB Trey Lance is a mistake and I am anxious to see if NFL G.M's feel the same way when Trey becomes a free agent at seasons end.

Just to fill those confused people in, most of posters are using their phones and don't see the pic us laptop users see.....its had Cam waaaay past his NE days, CMC waaaay past his Panthers days, and now BY holds the picture spot to my right.....its worse than the Madden curse at its height...

Tbis is bullshit probably anyway. Getting a click. It is way too early for legit rumors. IMO.

No one is doing that. Everyone I see is saying bring him to compete, day dreaming...

Time to Start Roughing Out the '26 Draft--Needs and Pecking Order

I saw a mock recently with Reese no. 1. That is an insane prediction for ILB but he seems to be moving up the boards. -
