Stank the Tank

All about the low risk high reward potential of players. Especially QBs. We don’t need a star to instantly improve. A guy that can see the field and complete something 15 -30 yards and work from under center and run play action. And a healthy OL would be helpful. That probably gets us a winning record. I think we are losing at least ten this year.
-
if Lance, Heinke, and Young were all 3 in a legit non-bias QB battle. Bryce Young would finish 3rd.
-
His contract was for 2M. Sign him up.

Way to pump up the crowd for gameday... lol How about something like... (Ahem) Despite half our team being in the ICU, and the ther half the morgue, we still have the 2nd best record in the eastern conference and top 5 overall in the league. While on the mend, we are still pacing our Stanley Cup competition. At the same time, we have established proven depth and may have found a few gems for the future. Not to mention increasing the value of our prospect pool in case Tulsky decides to go shopping at the deadline. Oh, and our young Russian import we've been drooling over for years is finally here and looks every part the budding superstar we all fantasized he could be. Some fans might be disappointed with how our season has started. But, I promise you, GMs around the league are terrified watching what's going down in Raleightown! Now...

In Carter's defense he basically equalled XL's first four years in final year. But yeah, if you're 6'3" and run sub-4.4 and have shown much of anything on a high major college football field somebody is gonna roll the dice on you. 5th was a reach but the 6th and 7th rounds are basically full of guys with either the measurables and lack of production or production and lack of measurables.

I would think Jim Harbaugh knows a little more about QBs that our staff judging by the track records. Harbaugh liked what he saw enough to remove Heincke (who is a bad starter but solid backup in this league) from his roster to keep Lance as QB2. So Trey Lance looked awful in preseason 2 years ago and looked completely different this year. The man has always needed reps. I'm not saying he is the answer by any means but writing him off from such little experience at the age of 25 is premature at best. People were claiming Darnold and Jones were done as QBs at one time as well. I'm all for signing him to a backup deal and letting it be an open competition. Low risk, high reward.

The true worst case scenario. Bryce for another few years and then having to eat dead cap wasted on him. Well worst case for me because I can't sit through more of Bryce already. I still think any potential production loss is minimal and we are already operating off of run the ball, play stingy D and try to not turn over the ball we would do with a rookie or project.
-
You mean on X? If it isn’t the QB’s fault it has to be somebody’s, right?
-
He's not going to shag you.
-
Nothing is absolute, but the fact is is that Bryce is the QB. He's the only one that touches the ball nearly every single play. The offense flows through him (or not). There are degrees to this, and shades of truth and fiction, and everything in between, as to why there is failure between he and any receiver not named Tetairoa. And even Tetairoa is unfortunately getting some undue blame if you look what's happening on social media.
-
If Bryce had a few not horrible games we could be worse than any of those situations because we could be in year one of crazy QB contract next year. With him as the prize. Where they are closer to being free.
-
Both can actually be true depending on style of play. My thing is, Bryce is not maximizing the skills of the players that we have. They could be so much more. I'm willing to bet that this will become apparent once circumstances change.

We will see with Mike White eventually...which we have already seen that level from Dalton this year. It can get worse. It's laughable close but still a bit worse production. For me it would be Murray and his contract or Mac Jones on a Purdyish contract would absolutely be worse than Young almost washing out of here. See? The stuff of nightmares basically is worse than were we sit currently.
-
I am not here to argue for a particular guy as I haven’t researched any of them. It is the beginning of a culling process and zi think he should be included in it.
-
I'm gonna predict White

The first game in 2023, the pace of his drops was actually shocking to me. Two things I remember the most was the limited depth of the passing game and that casual no hurry manner of operating. I was flabbergasted really. Could not believe what I was watching. I knew the footwork and arm strength issues but had not realized the pace he played at.
-
It's kind of funny. For awhile it was poor Bryce he has no weapons. Now it's poor weapons they have no qb
-
And we thought Andy Dalton had another good year in him. Using our own mistake to minimize someone else's mistake doesn't make for a good argument. Lance is not a starter. Doubt he ever will be.
-
I'm not willing to shift blame for any individual player's sh-tty performance to a separate individual player. That kind of behavior doesn't come from some outside contagion. It starts within. If anything, he should be making more of an effort to play well to compensate for problems at the QB spot. Regardless of Bryce, Legette has to own his own work.
-
The L.A. Chargers obtained Trey Lance and he became their #2 QB , so undoubtly they don't agree with you.
-
But people overlook that the team finished 6-6, not at all a typical picking number one team. Sorry but I reject that line of excusing. We went So bad, so early, it was because of Bryce. He couldn’t even really work from under center you can’t run play action you can’t play ten way Wilks played and how we are now just to win some games… it was insane. PS and some of the biggest insanity was taking D J Moore away. How fugi g crazy was that….
-
Sounds more like Trey Lance just had the bad luck to have these freak injuries at the wrong time. I really don't think he has long term history of being injury prone. The Panthers need to let AndyDdalton go and try obtaining Trey Lance,in my opinion to compete with or replace Bryce Young.

Hear hear. I missed some of the best days because I didn’t even know what the internet was in 1995, and was working in Atlanta in 1995-1997. I used to go to the bar on Sundays to try and get a Panthers game but it was hard. If they were on the 4pm then maybe I could se it but it was all Falcons everywhere. Mostly a game here and there and twice a year when we played Atlanta. And forget about print coverage. The whole 1996 season was lost to me really. We could not get coverage like we have now with the net and all the video streaming. And a message board to interact with people. What a concept.
