  1. Past hour
  2. so why is the AFC on fox today and the NFC on cbs?
  3. What strategy is involved in casually watching football games, may I ask?
  4. I missed it. I turned the channel after Kirk Herbstreit said "the CFP should be the twelve best teams, and who knows, maybe Tulane and James Madison will prove to be one of those". Hahaha. Bunch of bitch-made talking heads scared to say what they really think. Saban was the only one who spoke up that Tulane and James Madison shouldn't be in, imagine what he would've said on air if Bama had been left out.
  5. I mean he isn't really wrong in a certain sense. Usually jobs are attached to big QB decisions(coaching or FO) so it's less likely for an entrenched starter to lose that job unless it is by some other factor(extremely poor play, contract situation, coaching/FO change/direction, etc). If the FO or coaching staff think they have their QB, they aren't likely to give another QB a serious shot unless the situation can threaten their jobs. The NFL is still about winning but personnel decisions can still end up being a bit beauracratic or certainly political. We see it even on the current team outside of Bryce.
  6. As I tell my team at work, "hope isn't a strategy".
  7. Listen to this non-answer on ND/Miami. This dude is getting fuging grilled and he's very uncomfortable. He's trying to muddy the waters constantly bringing up BYU like that's relevant. LOL The answer here is honestly just saying "Listen, we screwed up having ND ahead of Miami in the rankings all along. Miami beat ND head to head and it shouldn't have taken us until the final buzzer to acknowledge that."
  8. I like Evero. with the mismanagement of draft picks and an entire offseason last year dedicated to helping prop Bryce up; I don’t think there’s a coordinator in the league who was given less to work with than him. He’s definitely gone though. Not being under contract this late into a turnaround year and coupled with the fact that we blocked him from interviewing is all the writing on the wall I need to see.
  9. Disagree. I hope JMU and Tulane win. I will never, ever, ever root for an SEC or Big Ten team over anyone after the way they ruined college athletics.
  10. Honestly, if you want the conference championship games to not punish losera of those games then you need to do the playoff selection before those games are played. The best approach is really to eliminate the conference championship games altogether and just crown regular season conference champs. Those games are always gonna be monkey wrenches and the best scenario is to be a team safely in that doesn't have to play in one which is bullshit. But you'll never get those conferences to forego that $$$ generated by those games.
  11. Yeah, I hate em both but it's what is best.
  12. Yeah, I think after Bryce the Evero situation is the most interesting one for us headed into the offseason.
  13. I really don't get this whole Miami/ND "controversy". Both two loss teams, both weak schedules, and Miami beat ND head to head. Honestly, if anyone has an argument for being snubbed it's BYU. They have better wins than Miami and ND and only two losses, both to the #4 playoff team Texas Tech. Yeah, both losses were lopsided but so was Bama's ass whipping yesterday and they're still in as a three loss team.
  14. And even Brown has been more disappointing than I expected. I was more amped about that signing than Wharton. He has been fairly middling, TBH.
  15. The whole process is bullshit. Notre Dame was "better" than Miami 6 days ago, nothing change for those two teams, and now Miami is "better". Alabama gets whipped in the conference title game, stays put. Ohio State barely loses their conference title game, drops a spot and now gets Georgia in the semis instead of Texas Tech. Wouldn't have mattered, but BYU also dropped a spot after losing in the same fashion Alabama did. Bama is lucky Saban works for ESPN. Ole Miss already beat the brakes off of Tulane. James Madison's team watch party looks like a scene from Wolf Of Wall Street with all the 5'10 white guys in there. I'll set the combined spread for Oregon and Ole Miss at -62.5.
  16. I think we have to root for the Saints to beat the Bucs Today
  17. Yeah, Saban was basically just saying without outright saying it that the group of five needs to be a different division and honestly he's right.
  18. Dear Oregon and Ole Miss, Please beat the dogpiss out of James Madison and Tulane (again for Ole Miss), so the CFP can change this rule and stop this mockery of letting these junior varsity teams in the CFP. Sincerely Yours, Football Fans
  19. Okay Miami stans, you can calm down. You're in. Now take your ass whooping and STFU. LOL Kinda bullshit that OSU stays at #2 over UGA at #3 but whatever. JMU and Tulane both in. Tukane is playing Ole Miss going through the whole Lane Kiffin fiasco so maybe they have a chance? JMU is gonna lose by 4+ scores to Oregon in Oregon though.
  20. Since you don't believe in stats there's no way to have a rational discussion. Statistically, across all metrics that measure a QBs performance, for 3 years, Bryce has been the worst starter in the NFL. Where in any other sport, does the worst player in the league at his position play for 3 years without ever facing one day of competition for his job? And you're right, the Bucs aren't going to tell Baker that. He already knows it. It's the NFL. The highest level of football in the world. Not. For. Long. He already knows if he isn't the best QB on the team, chances are high that he could and should be replaced. Any competent coach/GM would do it or they could lose their job. But since you've said starters are entrenched, backups who've taken the starters job Brady from Bledsoe Romo from Bledsoe Dak from Romo R. Wilson from Matt Flynn Hurts from Wentz Kaepernick from Smith Cousins from RG3 Tannehill from Marriota Warner from Green And a little closer to home Delhomme from Rodney Peete. There's a few
  21. That is pretty wild but I guess it does speak pretty highly of him that VT welcomed him back in a lesser role shortly after firing him. He was Franklin's DC at Penn State for years prior to taking the VT job so it makes sense on that front. Says a lot about Frankin too to keep the former HC around, the prior working relationship no doubt plays a big role there. Can't imagine keeping the fired HC around in a lesser role unless he'd already worked under you in the past. Being a really good coordinator doesn't always translate to being a good HC. I guess credit to VT for not losing a good coordinator because he failed as a HC.
  22. He isn’t in any of the HC conversations this year but he was a couple of years ago. I can see Tepper trying to resign him due to the improvement this season and wanting the 3rd round picks if he gets hired somewhere else. The coaching candidates are weak as hell this year, Evero may think he has a chance at a job or can backfill a DC of a contender if they leave for a HC job. BUT this also gives Dave and Dan an opportunity to bring in their guy, so will be interesting to see.
