Imagine if Mingo and Marshall had guaranteed contracts

ECU football is in the All-American Conference (AAC). About 45 minutes from me. I go every other year when Navy comes to Greenville and kicks their ass. But, yes, I have several friends who are huge ECU boosters and have tailgate spots right outside the gate and, it is an event. ECU football is going to die a slow, painful death thanks to the transfer portal and NIL, and trying to recruit and compete with UNC, Duke, and NC State.

I honestly hope not. I hope T-Mac is a big time impact rookies and that Legette makes a big jump from his rookie to his second year. Wouldn't mind for Coker to eat into his snaps and targets too. The best case scenario for the Panthers as a team will be for Thielen to play well in spots but largely give way to the youngsters.

It shouldn't affect much of anything. For the 50th pick, 1 ahead of Scourton, the total contract difference in guaranteed money is $1.6 million more than the 50th last year. 400k per season out of 280 million for the 2025 cap.

Missed the final 8min but seeing the team up by 32 at one point helped me cope. My favorite comments on the Hornets subreddit following the win last night:

Now we know the reason for the holdout. Be aware that you’ve set the precedent for all contracts going forward. -
My friend, you are already here.

I'm veeery interested to see how this affects team's draft strategy going forward. Guaranteeing a majority of that second rounder's contract is going to make it even more important for teams to not whiff. Marty Hurney is thanking his stars that he isn't a GM anymore.

I'm old. I assumed giving me "the D" was a bad thing with no other context. I approve of any Charlie Murphy usage, though.

Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. I have seen plenty of coaches or mentors that look like they could never do "the thing" be the best at teaching it.

Coastal has proved to be one of the best. Easily. Fun to watch them mullets. And I am a Mountaineer too.

Headed to the ‘ship tomorrow night. Good job bugs. Good job.

According to David Newton Panthers gave him a fully guaranteed deal along with a sizable multimillion dollar signing bonus and 24/7 access to my onion fart sausage farm [edited for non rapy vibes] -

lol at everyone wishing we had some stud backup QB Dalton not being a HOFer doesn't mean he's not a great mentor and partial coach to Bryce, he's been in the league forever and seen tons of things, he has so much knowledge to pass on. Most of the good coaches in the league were middling players at best, so it's weird to think Dalton not having playoff success means he can only be teaching Bryce the wrong things. Also, if Bryce craps the bed or gets hurt, we're probably better off with a bad backup who isn't going to win us games and end up with a top draft pick to take a new QB next year anyways. If Bryce doesn't prove to be our QB of the future this year, the worst case scenario would be for a backup to find a way to win enough games to put us drafting like 13th next year.

@frankwGuess by the reaction, you hate people based on hair color. Noted.
-
Probably around 80 percent of the contract guaranteed. That's the going rate apparently.
