  1. Past hour
  2. Everyone is probably tired of hearing me say it in all the Icky bashing threads, but this is the first time he's been with the same system/staff for two consecutive seasons since college and I knew he would end up being the guy. So 1) I told you so. (sorry, I was right about something. I need the recognition my father never gave me) 2) Pay him. He's going to continue to get better. and +1 to we need to learn how to draft guards again
  3. I'm still on the Legette train. He's gonna be anywhere from solid to stud. He needs a little more time and some better play from the QB position.
  4. It's unfortunate that contracts keep ballooning but he plays a position of great importance and he is young. This is why it is important for the FO to prioritize drafting OL going forward. We already have the highest paid OL without the Icky contract.
  5. He’s young and good enough that they might have to make him the highest paid in the league or close to it. Doesn’t seem like the team has much leverage.
  6. If he is truly ready then activate him but I would prefer to give him an extra week. Let's be honest. If we can't defeat the Saints without him then our quest for the division is already toast. We will need Hunt big time against the Bucs and Seahawks to finish the season.
  7. Air yards or YAC? How many has he thrown?
  8. Today
  9. It's been many a year since we were in December talking about how games mattered for something other than draft order. This crazy, mixed up, unpredictable, maddening, uplifting and teeth gnashing season has certainly not been boring.
  10. If you look at Brown and Horn's contracts, expect to pay above what he is likely actually worth. This is the Panthers suckage tax. Ultimately, much like Derrick Brown, he has steadily improved over time and that's what you want out of your young first round draft picks. He was one of the biggest and most important question marks coming into the season and he has answered it conclusively. He is "the guy" at LT. Great news, one less position of extreme importance to have to attempt to remedy.
  11. This is maddening because, well, it's so up and down. When the kid's on, he can be great. When he's mediocre, we can still win based on a strong running game and good defense. When he's bad, and over his history he's this more than not, then it's a sad show that no one could win with. How can anyone know what is going to happen right now? Really. It's like picking one flake in a snow globe and shaking it once a week... there is no telling where it will end up. Things I did see on Sunday from Bryce: his teammates love him; he can make the big throws with good protection and good effort from his receivers. He isn't afraid to run. He can rise up against the best in competition (but he can also sink to the level of bad competition). All I can say is if Canales goes with an aggressive game plan for Bryce that leans on a hot-hand running game, the team can beat anyone. If there's any wishy-washy play calling, then Bryce melts and couldn't beat anyone. Maybe the person Bryce needs to win over more than anyone is Canales.
  12. Keep in mind that Baker does have a fuged up AC joint. Also keep in mind Evans is about to return.
  13. Kinda crazy how little we are talking about Icky this season. He will be heading into the final 5th year option of his contract, meaning he will likely be getting a contract extension this offseason. He’s having a career season. He’s had only 3 penalties in 13 games, a large drop from the 11-12 he’s averaged in prior years. His impact in the run game is still massive, while still being average at best in pass protection. Either way he’s been the best LT the Panthers have fielded since Jordan Gross and it’s a no-brainer to re-sign him. But at what cost? He will command a hefty price.
  14. Good lord this thread. Bryce did a great job of throwing TMac open. Bryce has been one of the more accurate down field passers this season in the league. They’re just not taking a lot of deep shots but he’s been accurate. He’s thrown a few real nice sideline go balls which was something I had serious doubt about a couple years ago
  15. How about don't rush a very expensive player recovering from a bicep tear back? Just get Mays healthy and Corbett is a very good OG.
  16. Sunday threw another monkey wrench into the equation.
  17. Unreal they played Zavala over Curhan. Zavala needs to be cut, but won’t because he’s Icky’s friend.
  18. A few nice throws on 4th down don’t erase dozens of miserable games. If Bryce plays well in every game down the stretch, win or lose, he has proven himself for next season. He lays another Saints at home dud against the Bucs or something he can be damn sure to have competition for his job next year.
  19. Losing to the Saints at home really f*cked up the playoff chances. That’s what happens when an entire team goes off and huffs their own jenkem before a game
  20. Panthers go 2-2 in the last 4 games wining once against the Bucs and beating the Saints........ Bucs other than one lost to Carolina will win their other 3 games..................at the end of the regular season Panthers will be on the outside looking in at the playoffs. That's just wonderful.......just good enough to keep the current situation for another 10 years of "wait until next year" banter.........
  21. After seeing us play this year I believe we can beat anybody, but I also feel that we can lose to anybody. I wouldn't be shocked if we lost to Saints then go on to win out and win a home playoff game. Getting swept by the 2 win saints and winning the division would be so on par for how this season has felt.
  22. This is the best use of him. He'll get open inevitably when defenses crowd the box on Bryce.
  23. The Bucs have 4 games out of their last 5 being division rivals and the 5th being against a Miami team that's a in state rival who's been on a hot streak lately winning 4 out of their last 5 games. As we all know you can throw the record of each team out the window when it comes to division games. I wouldn't be shocked to see Tampa lose to at least one or if not both the Saints and the Falcons.
  24. Damn. This feels a lot like the Wilks year all of a sudden. I know we didn’t have to sweep them, but everything hinging on what we do against Tampa. Sigh…
  25. If you look at it with context, the fact that Tmac is putting up those numbers on a wildly inconsistent offense like the Panthers with a QB that throws for sub 200 most of his games, is probably way more impressive than Ebuka balling with Baker launching poo down the field constantly on a team that's won the division multiple years in a row. I think it's going to come down to how he finishes up the year, Tmac and Ebuka go head to head twice in the last 3 weeks of the season. That will settle who wins most likely. Especially if we win the games against Tampa. Conversely if Tampa sweeps us and Tmac has poor stats, Ebuka could win.
  26. He's fast so .. uhh... send him deep every play to drag off defenders, to open things up for TMac and Coker. Don't do anything stupid and actually pass him the ball though.
