Will 5-6 wins be enough for Canales to keep his job?
mav1234 replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Frankly he's more likely to lose his job if we lose out and Bryce DOESNT turn into a pumpkin. If Bryce goes back to how he's been most of this year, Canales definitely comes back, so long as the team still fights hard. -
If they get a linebacker like Anthony Hill Jr from Texas in the draft, the defense is going to POP.

It wasn’t good it was record setting and legendary. When Bryce hoists the Lombardi and MVP trophy later this season remember this moment

We are still the Panthers. Here is what I expect: that ankle swells up and we don’t get to see consecutive weeks. -

This board tells me BY9 is the worst QB in the NFL, biggest bust of all time, and there are multiple backups out there better than him. If that’s true Canales has us with a winning record and in playoff contention mid November. Yes he absolutely is our coach. -
Cerelus was out of position and beaten so many times today it’s a wonder he makes it back to Charlotte. He also rallied and gang tackled when needed. It’s no understatement to say we need Trevin back asap.

Burns isn’t a complete player. DJ was very good but at this point T Mac looks better. And he should considering where they went in the draft. But that doesn’t always hold true. CMC, yes you could put him higher and definitely on actual league accomplishments. T Mac does give flashes of HOF quality. So much goes into actually being that and it has to be year after year so… not right now. But the potential is pretty obvious to my way of thinking.

Cool. Point is still the point. BY’s annual good game vs Atlanta is just that. Just like last seasons didn’t change anything

Forget trying to draft a QB in the early first round--it's stupid
PappyMay replied to MHS831's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
I agree with going another position round 1 this year. Also I like Sorsby. Josh Hoover as wells as mid rounders. I just wonder if some big college programs can out bid the contract of a mid round pick. Going to Bama to replace Simpson or Moore at Oregon could be more lucrative sadly. -

Yes he is IMO. Exactly for the reasons u mention. Hes saddled with a QB that is questionable and managed to a game out of Bryce today no one thought could ever happen. -
I will not hesitate to criticize Dave for his vaginal tendencies; however, he does seem to have to locker room by the ear and I have to respect that. Good job, coach. Good job.

We finally saw the potential of what drafting 2 receivers in the first round brings today.

These next two games will be huge for him. He plays well during them, il start to believe. -
The great Bobby Bowden once said "first you lose big, then you lose close, then you win close, and finally you win big". Dare I say we are transitioning into stage 3?

They lost at home 19-17 on a game winning FG to Chicago. -
Given the lack of value fits to our defensive needs at number 8, I got it then. As far as being a guy critical of all the offense padding at the expense of our defense I wanted defense. It just wasn’t there. But he has totally looked the part since he got here. Looks like a great pick.

They knocked out the starter. That has to be considered.

his hot seat is about as hot as any NFL coach, I would be shocked if Dave was fired, as long as you are moving in a direction and we seem to be that should buy him more time. -

Yes. If nothing else, Tepper needs to show future candidates that he can be patient. -

Just last week we saw the team lay a dud of all duds against the one of if not the worst team in the NFL then all of a sudden we’re confident in them beating one of the NFC West juggernauts? Can’t play the Falcons every week who probably would have won if Penix didn’t get knocked out. I think this team is obviously better than last year and that probably gets Canales another year, but there’s still a lot to be said about this season as they play contender after contender from here on out except for the Saints in the dome which is a tough game regardless of their record. They could easily lose the rest of their games and that would be OH so Panthers. -

I think the Vikings lost today they don't seem to be that good -
If the defense gets a pass rusher and another blue chip corner or s, it’s gonna be some big problems
