  1. Past hour
  2. I feel as though anything like that is at least a year away.
  3. When I see those figures my stomach gets queasy at the thought of Bryce getting a similar deal. I think it would be a wise for the FO to speak to him and his agent before the deadline for 5th year option. If Bryce expects a similar deal prior to his 4th year...or even after his 4th year...Morgan needs to try to work out a trade deal and move him.
  4. I do hope Sonny Styles is available with our pick. Reese will go top-3, but Styles is a beast in his own right. His size next to Wallace would be a heckuva balance and he plays fast. My guess is Styles destroys the combine and goes top-8. Gotta hope the "taking an off-ball LB early" conversation causes a bit of a drop. It did with Campbell in last draft, so here's hoping Styles can last until the late teens/early 20s.
  5. Teams can win in spite of bad offense. In spite of bad defense. In spite of bad ST. In spite of being weak at corner. In spite of weak WRs. In spite of weak QB play. like I said, what is taking place is the unique cherry pick where some fans say we can't state the obvious reality about the QB spot. But look at Atlanta! But look at these 3 throws in this game he was treated as a backup for every single other snap! Exceptions don't make the rule or change the big picture. I have seen lots of your post, I don't recall you rushing to Philly Brown's defense when it was just matter of fact stated Cam Newton won NFL MVP/went to the Super Bowl despite a weak WR cast. The entire board universally agreed the weak link to that roster was what it was. I would reckon if I searched hard enough, I could find you making the same matter of statement that teams do in fact win in spite of very clear weaknesses.
  6. I think a lot has to do with a significant amount of injuries increasing as well. It seems like this year especially, there have just been a ridiculous number of injuries across the board. There's not really a 1 and 2 receiver because most teams have been lucky just to keep a number 1 on the field. If you go and look at the list of injuries to RB, WR and TE this year, it's pretty appalling how many guys have missed time.
  7. Happy for Chuba and agree that he was brought back too soon. He showed an extra gear and more confidence this past week than he has in previous weeks. I also think Dowdle has been hampered by that groin injury from a few weeks back and isn't 100%. If Canales can continue to balance these two to keep them charged up and whoever has the hot hand, we should be good. The Rams game was a blueprint to how we win. It's Carolina football...always has been, and always will be our calling card. DC has to stop trying to outsmart himself or reinvent the wheel.
  8. Lmao see in you in Greensboro bro me and the crew went to Billyween for my 40th this year it was fuging sick
  9. This is the answer. My feeling is that they may have rushed Brooks back a bit last year. Hard to say without knowing and different injury types/history/age, but I'd rather have a healthy Hunt for TB or 100% for the start of 2026 vs. re-injuring himself. Corbett at OG is as good as a rusty Rob not at 100%.
  10. Big passing yards usually come with big YAC. Teams are playing alot more cover 2 and 3 nowadays. Panthers are just now figuring out they should take shots deep when the defense is in 0 or 1.
  11. Zavala can only play decent if he's on the left with Ickey. From my untrained perspective Curhen is a better RG than LG.
  12. Cuhran did not play well last week when I watched / noticed. However, He does not cost us over $1m per game either. He has been solid up until then-not sure how he graded vs the Rams, but I would bet "not great." (just checked--a 56.3--not horrible).
  13. Nobody’s ring chasing signing an extension. The “bad team tax” just means you have to pay more in UFA than a better team all things being equal. If Derrick Brown hit the market he was getting a monster deal. I don’t think we had to pay a special tax that’s exclusive to a few teams. The bad team tax is not relevant to extending Icky.
  14. I think folks should take a look the the total yards most qbs are getting each week. Its all over the place. Even Allen isn't hitting 200 yards per game most games. Most are are around 175 to 200 yards on any given week. It's becoming more common and I'm not sure why.
  15. Bryce threw open to Tmac. It was a fantastic play on 4th down and 4? Great throw, great catch. Period. Nothing else to discuss of the play.
  16. I like Mendoza but I'm honestly not sure he's much more than a high level game manager at the NFL level. A bit more raw talented version of Purdy if you will. I haven't seen enough of the Oregon guy to have much of an opinion. Looking forward to seeing him in the playoffs. Everyone else? I have significant questions about any of them being 1st round worthy.
  17. Icky is exactly who he was coming out of college. Run mauling tackle but below average pass pro at the NFL level. Charles Cross was the pass pro ready tackle. It was always going to take a couple of years to get him up to the NFL level for pass blocking. Icky has earned his extension because he's right on pace with where he should be given where he started. The difference between Bryce and Icky is most drafted QBs still with their team don't play on their 5th year option. They get an extension after year 3. The exceptions to this are rare. That's not saying that Bryce wouldn't play on the remainder of his rookie deal, or the 5th year, if that's all we offered. I'm just pointing out that that hasn't been the trend, and it's something I'm sure his agent is well aware of when it comes to negotiation time. Trevor Lawrence: Jacksonville Jaguars, 5 years, $275 million Joe Burrow: Cincinnati Bengals, 5 years, $275 million Justin Herbert: Los Angeles Chargers, 5 years, $262.5 million Brock Purdy: San Francisco 49ers, 5 years, $265 million Jalen Hurts: Philadelphia Eagles, 5 years, $255 million Kyler Murray: Arizona Cardinals, 5 years, $230.5 million These are some of the recent extensions. Icky's contract would be around half of this. The question becomes then, if we plugged in an average QB behind a line of Icky, Lewis, Mayes, Hunt and Moton, would the results be similar, better or worse to Bryce with an extension behind ?, ? Mayes, Hunt and Moton? Icky, Corbett and Lewis would likely be cap casualties. That's why I question the Bryce option. It's whether or not we're stupid enough to pay an extension if it comes to that, because I definitely don't think it's warranted baring a SB appearance that Bryce drags the entire team with him based on his 3 years of Jekyll/Hyde performance and his still less than desirable mechanics, footwork, and other issues.
  18. Nothing yet. He was extremely raw in college. And you have him in a run first offense with a QB that throws mostly to the TE and rbs out of the backfield. You're looking at 3-4 targets a game at most.
  19. 11 shows this year, tickets for Asheville in Feb, getting Charleston, Greensboro, Savannah tomorrow. might go to st Augustine but my ex is gonna be there and I don’t want to deal with it
  20. I know we want to consistently see more yards. I do too. But 175 yards, 3 TDs and no INTs can win games. Heck, it actually is for Carolina this season.
  21. We have to keep Icky he is doing great and he loves this team!!
  22. Why? He signed a contract that says he gets paid 3.9M next year as a 39 year old or we take a 5.8M cap hit. He would be a fool to walk away from that.
  23. He was horrific in pass blocking his first few years and only improved recently.
