I was at that game as well sitting in the end zone area and remembered how the stadium erupted when Hitchcock got that pick six. It was supposed to snow the night before through the morning hours but not a flake fell and when the sun came out in the 2nd half the fans applauded sarcastically at the botched forecast.

I love that he is getting his flowers. I'm always on madden checking to see his ratings if they bumped him up as they currently have him as the 2nd ranked DT in the entire game.
-
There are several options for BY: 1. Cut him now and incur a 12M cap hit=no. 2. Keep him for 2026 and risk (.0001%) him balling out and leaving in FA=no. 3. Wait until April 23 for the draft to see if we get a qb=yes. 4. Decide before May 1 whether to exercise the fifth year, which would cost us 26M in '07=yes.

I'm not arguing that spread is most important aspect but it's something.... https://www.wcnc.com/article/sports/nfl/panthers/panthers-second-largest-upset-in-franchise-history-packers-win/275-8a802c46-9694-455a-8cee-4ddb5ff08fea Largest Spreads of Wins in History: 1995 Week 10 – 13-7 over San Francisco (14-point underdogs) 2000 Week 10 – 27-24 over St. Louis Rams (13.5-point underdogs) 2025 Week 9 – 16-13 over Green Bay (13.5-point underdogs) 2022 Week 7 – 21-3 over Tampa Bay Buccaneers (13-point underdogs) 2021 Week 10 – 34-10 over Arizona Cardinals (10.5-point underdogs)

Talk to me after the next Saints game
-
I mean, once I hear him say “his ample chest” referencing Rivera, it gets to a place I don’t want my announcers to take me.
-
That's always the reason for a spread. But that leans in to public perception and therefore surprise.
-
There certainly is some irony in showing "loyalty" and to "Keep Pounding" for one Panther while bashing another in the same post. Just saying.
-
He's getting closer to that Tua ,Teddy B level of QB play. Hell he might be as good as Alex Smith one day if he keeps improving!
-
you have to pay him. He is from Charlotte, so that may count for something.
-
To whoever it was that's made a habit of disparaging him on game days around here... Respectfully, you're wrong. ... (and I lied about the "respectfully" part, it's not meant that way at all)

Not sure what the spread means with this team. The spread in general seems as much based on driving action for both teams as for actually being predictive.
-
the Panthers have played from behind the majority of the season boss. A the half and going into the 4th. we have a weak pass attack because we have a weak QB
-
I agree with this if the media and random fans that actually never watch him play would stop cherry picking crazy off the wall stats to show he is something he is not and simply be honest he is bottom of the nfl as far as qbs go and the other teams that have similiar qbs are all looking to upgrade. I have never seen an nfl qb get babied so much I do not understand it at all. I do feel he had his best two games of his career the last 3 weeks. The falcons and the rams. With that said all these teams are selling out to stop the run the coaching has been awesome and the defense has really stepped up. Yet no media is praising anyone but young. Hopefully he can start producing like those two games every week but this is year 3 and he has had what 3 games over 200 yards passing.

A lot of X accounts this past Monday...

This season reminds me a lot of 1999. The ups and downs. That was the season where I moved from a casual to a fanatic and Steve Beuerlein is still the fuging man.
-
Definitely. And what a win. Double OT. And the next week AT the Eagles. Their old stadium with the jail cells in it lol. A couple early on, 1995 1996 were big surprises. Expansion teams up until then had been really bad for a long time. Mostly. I think the @Tampa game for that ‘03 season was legendary. We didn’t really expect to win.
-
lol Its been 3 years dude, 3 years of basically the same stats.
-
I think you gotta at least run out the clock on Bryce. Pick up the option if you want more time. I wouldn't extend him unless we win the Super Bowl lol.

Official Week 13: Rams @ Panthers Gameday Thread
strato replied to rodeo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Thieves Avenue. Which neither here nor there, for some reason that nickname wasn’t a home run with me. Compared to the great nicknames of the past. Legion of Boom was a really good one, I have to say. Doomsday defense. Fearsome Foursome. Steel Curtain (Cold War Iron Curtain reference, for the young people). Some others I am not remembering. Purple People Eaters was cool. Offbeat but cool. edit: seems like I like the ones with alliteration. Or maybe everybody likes it. and one OL group that I remember, The Hogs. Seems loike defenses get the names usually. -
The Burns contract is this exact situation. His age and position required top of the market contract. Yet we all knew he was not playing to that. So we let him go and het got that elsewhere. But now as the GM you need to fill that void... and you better not fug it up. BY will be the same situation on repeat... There is no option for a middle tier QB contract. Walk or sign for big money.. but keep in mind, We all said Darnold sucked. We all said Baker sucked. What are you going to do...

What was different between the saints and 49ers game. Did he get to a state where pornhub isn’t banned and forget
-
The win at Green Bay was a bigger upset spread wise. If that means anything.
-
That's definitely a surprising win, and probably in the running for the greatest Panthers game, and one of the best football games in general that I've ever watching. I was watching at home, and probably the last hour I was on my feet.
-
Following that logic, the Panthers should wind up at 9-7.
